Autopsy Rd 14 Battered Blues Brave but down by 20

Another key point IMO is that during the pre season Bolts worked hard on being more attacking which I believe was right. Unfortunately with all the injuries it made it hard to do and hard to find the balance.

Now he has gone back to the defensive style of last year which is probably right. Needs to do it for the rest of the year and develop the young players.

Next year with hopefully an injury free run and some great additions I hope we will be able to find a better balance.
No Soapy. The offensive side should simply have been added to complement the defensive side they'd already established, not adding the offensive component at the expense of the defensive side. 30 tackles a game as we doing during JLT series was never going to cut it. I called it then and stand by it now.

I’m sure I noticed Patrick Cripps give Polson a big smile and hug on at least two occasions along with a word of advice,I think this shows us that the Captain is more than happy with the young fellas progress and his game day role.
Gutsy performance from Polson after copping a heavy knock early.

Gotta love the week-to-week reporting by AFL media. Last week Whately and King saying we are in big trouble, going no-where. This week both saying how Cripps and Curnow are the future and can see where we are going and they like it. ******* pathetic journalism.
Whateley, in particular, absolutely gives me the "Jimmy Brits". Kicks us at every at every available opportunity. Interesting to note he only asked one question during the interview with SOS yesterday.

That’s what I said

Daisy got a week.

So have I got this right. We lost 3 from the twos, 3 from the ones and Daisy suspended?

That's 7 in one weekend, bloody hell, Essendon only lost 14 players after 3 years for their supplements disgrace.

Perhaps we should go to he AFL and ask for top ups.

Coaches' Votes

10 - Patrick Cripps (CARL)
6 - Charlie Curnow (CARL)

6 - Steele Sidebottom (COLL)
4 - Scott Pendlebury (COLL)
2 - Jeremy Howe (COLL)
1 - Tom Phillips (COLL)
1 - Brodie Grundy (COLL)

Pair of 5s for Cripps.

Pair of 3s, one 4 and one 2 between Curnow and Sidebottom (no other combination possible - not enough high-scoring players).

Means Pendlebury got a 4 and a 0 - no prizes for guessing who voted which way :D

SOS probably said .. listen I don't do stupid well … just sit there, nod occasionally and STFU up.

Fisher never gonna be a high volume player, but geez he does some spectacular stuff when he gets it.

Good post but I reject that notion. He has gun written all over him, he'll average over 25 touches a game soon enough.

One thing that I noticed the first time that I saw Polson play (reserves practice match v Richmond last year) is that he is very combative.

Has had a tough run (sacrificial lamb v Port last year, late call up this year when team went badly and injuries) but you can't teach combative. Give him an extended run let him gain some confidence and we might be pleasantly surprised.

3 touches and 5 tackles to half time.

Finished on 4 touches and 5 tackles.

Loved what I saw from him, but need to see it more. Happy for him to hold his spot though if he's gonna keep the aggression up, see if he can improve his output over a month of footy.
Not sure how many noticed, but he was knocked clean out in the early stages of the first quarter (ish).
I don't even know how he finished the game so that, combined with manic pressure that we seriously lack in the fwd half of the ground, gave me the opinion that he has something.

We've been fined over it by the AFL now. Suspended fine.

Makes our effort against Collingwood even more courageous with the injuries we copped and now the revelation of Polson as well.
Great effort by Polson as well.

Possibly poor by our medical staff.
