Players with persistent soreness/fatigue and missing games... check
Players with elevated resting heart rates... check
Increased susceptability to injuries ... check
Chronic underperformance... check
Mental breakdown/burnout... check
Delayed recovery from injuries... check

Only real solution is rest, followed by improved training regime (and potentially diet). So 5 weeks to go, then the program gets an overhaul, right?

Easy to play in a good team,very hard in a poor team hence why Cripps/Charlie are superstars one more so at this stage.Very happy with our pick TDK will be great for us I’ve seen him live has something special.Dont forget 17 other clubs passed on him as well.I remember the outcry when Darcy Fogarty was taken after LOB.They picked him today to get his confidence up not sure he would’ve played if they were playing Tiges.All I’m saying is give them time.

100% agreed. Said this all year. Said this two or three weeks ago when Paul Roos said for a whole game he is unaccountable defensively. I could not care less how many intercept marks he takes. He cannot defend.

Thing is we need Jones. We need players who attack the ball while defending. The other players need to learn to roll off their man and pick up Jones's.

Roos was Jones strongest advocate last year. This year you rightly point out he has voiced his dismay at how Jones can be playing as he is currently. For what iit s worth I think Jones is struggling with Zone, last year we were man in man... the zone he cannot cope. For this is something Bolton needs to address. Jones is not simply deciding to stand 15 feet off his man because he thinks it is a good idea, he is being told to. I saw it live against GC with Lynch and could not believe Bolton let it continue all day. Bolton must think they have to learn it sooner or later and they may as well start now... but I am not sure Jones will get it. He is a back shoulder defender. We need a defensive coach maybe.

That's on the coaching staff. he shouldn't be on the field if he cant cope with the system the coach is using. That's a coaching issue.

If Marchbank and Weitering in particular can become the players I think they can be then we’ll have no need for Jones going forward. You can’t play three blokes who want to intercept mark unless they’re extremely versatile.

I agree but depth at this position is important. Jones is a valuable player and we should keep him.
