I'm pro-Fremantle, not pro Lyon but my reason for keeping him is he is halfway through his rebuild.

The club has a plan and he has the credits to see it through. Bringing im someone new now is not going to have a positive outcome.

We beat Port Adelaide a few weeks ago. It's not as bad as this game says when we have had some good wins and improvement throughout the year.

He should be given until the end of 2019 at the very minimum. He has the runs on the board.

Or we can go down the path of St Kilda, & Carlton. I'd rather see it through and if it fails replace those who implemented the plan and those who failed to execute.

I'm staying calm on this despite another disappointing year. The inexperience in the side does in fact count for something.

But if we don't see real improvement next year, it just has to be over for Ross. We can't fall into the trap of rebuilding year after year after year like all the shit sides do. Especially when we have a very capable first 22 when injury free, and there are serious structural problems that have plagued us for years and haven't gotten better.

It's 2018, he's done nothing since 2013 and we've got progressively worse, most players are going backwards, no more, give these kids an attacking coach, sick of averaging 10 goals a game when the go getters are 14+

We finished top of the ladder in 2015..... geez, at least try and present a balanced argument.
 
I have been a Ross Lyon fan for a long time , but today is the day the board will have too sit down and make the tough call or give Ross the opportunity to walk.
Its painfully obvious he has lost the group , it will be time to address the "stories" of his relationship with the rest of the coaching staff & basically the board will have to really be honest with themselves if they would wan't Ross coaching their sons. Ross has not evolved his game plan at all , and basically it will be easier to hit the reset button now than going on with Ross's 5 year plan .

I'm in the realist camp. There's no chance Ross isn't coaching next season. Also no rebuilding side averages 14 goals a game.

That said, Ross should be under serious pressure. This club needs to stop accepting mediocrity, ironically we did when we first hired Ross and now we need to again. That doesn't necessarily mean sack him, but he needs to show real improvement along with this young team.

Yes same shit as he did at Saints, push the old players with no youth and then be rucked for the next 6 years with no cup at the end of the rainbow

You never watched us play the Hawks before? They did this to us when we were good. He hasn't "lost the players" he just can't beat Clarkson. So if you are going to melt, melt about that.

Also, we have a melt thread and a Ross Lyon thread for this type of stuff.

He didn't do that at the Saints though? If he was given an unconditional contract as per his request he signs during the year and rebuilds.

Maybe he holds on to Dal Santo and Goddard and they actually develop players instead of going down the Scott Watters / Alan Richardson route.

Lyon isn't perfect but how about you post with some facts instead of this Ross Lyon is the devil narrative.

There MAY be a better alternative but he should be allowed to see out the rebuild. Next year with a potential in list of Fyfe, Bennell, Blakely, Logue and Taberner along with improvement in Brashaw and Cerra and we should be on the way up.

If we can never beat Hawthorn , it shows a serious chink in his armour which is not improving - This is not Clarksons finest vintage either.

Trust you? All you have shown is the ability to melt. That is not a rare commodity around here or particularly valuable one in my eyes.

I have never watched a Freo vs Hawks game with Ross and Clarko coaching where they weren't a significantly better team man for man. So at this point, I don't care.
