Can I be the sergeant that screams a lot because you won't play by the rules and threatens you with a "desk job"?

Crow till I die

Posted this on the main draft forum.

I actually think this works.

McGovern & Shiel to carlton
Adelaide's picks 8 & 19 to GWS
Carlton pick 1 to Adelaide
No thanks

Think you're grossly overrating Shiel to be honest, he's probably one of the more overrated players in the comp. Doesn't rack up huge numbers for a mid, isn't a game breaker and burns the ball nearly as often Dangerfield.
Nup, I think you're grossly underrating Shiel, not many mids in the AFL can match his burst speed from stoppages and not many mids in front of him for i50's, he's very close to what we gave up for Gibbs IMO given his age. I'd disagree re the game breaker bit too. He's firmly in the top echelon of mids in the AFL

Carlton hand over 2019 1st rounder to GWS.

Time for them to EAD for a change.

Agree.

I would rather have Shiel over Gibbs tbh. He is a massive weapon.

It's certainly likely that Rozee goes top 10. There's even been speculation that GC are keen on him with Pick 3. Every year somebody slides though. Last year Fogarty and Richards were top 10 monties, and ended up going at 12 and 16. Maybe it's Rozee or Hately this year?

Earlier this year he was rated outside top 10 I'll admit but since his SANFL leagur debut he's been very good both off half back and as a goal scoring half forward flanker. His final series was stellar.

No you missed the point M McGovern was pissed about his pay packet and believe he was lead astray well before the Camp, he went into the camp Pissed of with the Crows, root cause Money.
The Camp talk is smoke and mirrors, McGovern needs a good profile in order to get a fair chunk of 1mill of ASA deals from Carlton.
Youngie really needed McGovern to stay away from Twitter
How would you know any part of this to be true?

Carlton lose pick 1, 2019 first round
Suns lose pick 2,3
Adelaide lose McGovern, Melbournes pick
GWS lose Shiel

Carlton gain McGovern & Shiel
Adelaide gain pick 2 or 3 (depending who GWS want
GWS gain pick 2 or 3 and the Melbourne pick
Suns gain pick 1 and Carlton’s 2019 pick

Top 10 this year is gonna be tricky. A lot of niche type players, so I'm expecting a few left-field selections based on club needs rather than consensus rankings.

Still. I think Reid's focus will (and should) be on getting a few snowballing deals done that result in you guys getting your hands on 2 or more of the highly rated SA boys.

Tangent - if the option was (Rankine + Valente) or (Rozee + Hately + Valente), which do you think better suits what your list needs?

That question probably impacts things as well - Pick 8 could get you Rozee, Pick 15 could get you Hately, and Pick 20 could get you Valente. That's without any trades. So is the aim to shuffle those picks up to guarantee those players, or is it to forgo two of them to secure a Rankine-type talent?

Why is that?

Because Carlton don't want to give up pick 1, and they can't make any deal happen without trading it in some fashion.

Basically Carlton have verbally committed to too many irons in the fire this year, and have placed themselves in the awkward and damaging position where they have to walk away from some.

I absolutely agree with you bicks.. I have rated this guy very highly and have thought he would look extremely good in the crow tri-colours

Gee these Carlton supporters just make shit up as their go along.

For the last few weeks they've all come in sprouting about how McGovern was worth their imaginary priority pick (pick 11).

Now that they don't have that pick anymore, they all now come in trying to argue that McGovern is now only worth a token state player and pick 24 :drunk:

Sounds highly unprofessional IF you ask me, you have a fight at home with your mrs, then leave for work still pissed off, does it give you a right to treat customers like shit just because you're pissed?
So when SOS was pissed that Gibbs told us before you in 2016, and he played hardball, was that professional?

I thought as much but was interested if the comment was something more that what you posted.

Rozee + Rankine for me. We have enough inside mids short on pace. Rozee is outside mid and Rankine has x factor as a small forward. . Leaves us picks for the likes of Callum Wilkie and Boyd Woodcock

Adelaide will not receive a first round pick for MM, it isn't happening and he isn't worth it. He has shown a lot but he is far from the bonafide star that Gibbs was at the time of his trade. Whilst Adelaide will not allow themselves to get bent over, it is in their best interest that any player who wants to leave does so in a quiet and happy manner, with the disaster of a pre season camp still lingering they do not want disgruntled former players bringing it back to the surface.

Remember: Gibbs was happy to stay if a deal couldn't get done, MM will not be at Adelaide under any circumstance next year (regardless if he is at Carlton by trade, another club or he rips up his contract and walks into the PSD (incredibly unlikely))

For all the supporters who are talking about pick one or a future first round pick (i know it is not all of you, the majority of you are realistic) you are going to be massively disappointed.

You can mark my words that Carlton will be taking Sam Walsh with this #1 and any use of a future first round pick will be going to GWS in a deal for Shiel.

Did you watch GWS with no Kelly? Shiel doesn't turn matches when it's not going their way.

Lol, you have no idea! You realise he can’t do this? He’ll forgo 1 million plus if he sits out 2 years, won’t happen.
We’ll get overs or he suits up and does his best for us.

As I posted previously you flog, Gibbs wasnt happy to stay at Carlton. He was pissed off and his manager and family over here said so. But as he was contraced he had two options, sit out the year or play and ask for the trade the next year, which he did.
Now piss off back to your board with your BS.
