I've heard from a very good source that we will either use pick 1 or trade it. NOT both. Lock it in.

Not having it. Your source is playing funny buggers.

I'm hearing we will actually trade 1 for 3 and 6, then take pick 1 to the draft.

Hit the draft with 1,3,6

sos wants 3 & 6 and every second rounder gc will ever get...........won't happen..........

Crows are hoping for this.

Its just nonsense, more ridiculous hype created by media, earning a living glamorising the event.
Sam Walsh will be called out at pick 1 as certain as Death and Taxes, ther'll be no trading of pick 1, perhaps our future 1rounder may help us to snare another jet 5 to 10?

Holyyy hell!! So if we can’t get Walsh he def wants Luko assured
I’ve got no idea who sos wants but it’s clear he’s got his eye on someone at 6. Maybe sos just doesn’t have Walsh at one and the player he does have at one he can get with 2 and the bonus is he gets a free hit at 6.
Got trust him

I agree. I doubt we will just pass on pick 1, but if we do SOS has a plan. #trustSOS

Yup Silvagni would definitely look at an attractive offer, due dilligence and given the novelty of trading picks during draft with a little shove by AFL to glam it up a bit, who knows it may materialise, most likley GCS given their obvious player retention difficulties

Gold Coast source:

  • There's interest on both sides to do a deal
  • Extremely low likelihood of a deal happening
  • Carlton looking for massive overs for #1 (rightly so)
  • Gold Coast looking for maximum value with picks 2, 3, 6 (rightly so)
  • Only way a deal happens is if a third party is willing to pay both teams their asking price (Adelaide / Port) but the likelihood of that happening through draft picks alone is almost impossible and though there was some discussion during the trade period that was their best chance and nothing came remotely close
  • Fully expecting Carlton to draft Walsh
  • Expecting Gold Coast to draft Lukosius, Rankine and Rozee/Smith
  • Carlton talking to guys in the 2-10 rank is just "due diligence"

Don't want to be a broken record, but geez I'll be very disappointed if we pass on the chance to pick Walsh.

The most bulletproof mid since Kelly. Kelly. You know the guy everyone is obsessed with picking up next year?

I understand the merits of two great players vs. one but we'd be regretting the decision in five years.
