Injury Wines has done his shoulder

As for those saying he is not committed to the club because he goes skiing - GTFO of here...

Its all about timing and what your doing, less then two months from the start of the year and a high risk activity is ****ing stupid, its not the time for trying to do backflips on a wake board. You can have a heap of fun behind a boat without putting yourself at risk.

This is stupid and unprofessional.

I hope there is an outside injury clause in his contract.

I’ve certainly seen them in my industry- injured in your own time doing certain things (water skiing always features on that list) and you are placed on LWOP until good to go.

A well paid, elite athlete should know better. At least he didn’t blow up his knee.

Hopefully none of the "camping and 4x4ing" group roll an ankle on a rock or something...

Unless walking on a rock was on that list, they should be ok?

The point is, it’s a bloody dangerous activity for an elite athlete to put themselves in.

Anything to avoid AFL-X...

I know AFL players have lives outside of football but pick a hobby that doesn’t risk your arms getting ripped out of their sockets. Carn Ollie.

Sounds pretty unlucky. People need to chill lax, they deserve an outside life.

No thats a cop out.

Its about timing, you don't do shit like this on the verge of a new season. Especially when you are you clubs highest paid player and about to be named captain. You can have heaps of fun up the river without risking getting hurt, but being responsible must be to much to ask from a professional footballer.

Being an AFL player means making sacrifices, like "not doing stupid shit and getting hurt on the verge of a new season"

If he has done any damage that impacts his fitness or (got forbid) his ability to play round one he should not get the captaincy. It is unforgivable.

Mate, a player could literally break a bone today and still be likely ready to suit up by rd1...

Wal is probably a better wakeboarder/ skier than he is footballer... Im not sure that he would have even seen that he was putting himself at any risk at all!

I know what happened ... he was skiing along and he hit a bloody big Murray Cod. :p:D he slid on its back and in he went .;)

Couldn't he just hurt himself on the dance floor like a proper Port player?

You can't wrap them in cotton wool but **** me why does this stupid sort of injury have to happen.

Yeah, colour me naive, but if my livelihood was directly tied to my fleeting athletic prowess, I’d be giving physically risky pursuits a wide berth.

At least it wasn’t the pinnacle of dumb shit: riding a motorbike.
