I think one of the players was interviewed and suggested that there wouldn't be too much contact/tackling in this format. I dare say the players will have an agreement not to go overboard.

I am sorry, is this in reference to AFLX or recent Carlton AFL sides? :'(

Have to wonder if this is stuff that Fas decided to do himself, or if there's some orchestrated sanitisation going on to try and de-Collingwood him in the eyes of Blues fans.
The visit to Ravenhall Prison was for Fas to say goodbye to Collingwood supporters as part of de-Collingwooding process.

I know Cripps is good mates with Fisher, but it still says a lot about the high regard other players must hold him in

I'll be watching just for him

Been in my SC side for a month - got a sneaky feeling he's going to ramp it up this season, and having Charlie and the Mc's to kick to, he's going to be very damaging.

Part of the reason we couldn't lock the ball in our forward line has been because the entries have been diabolical.

In 2018 we had the second lowest scoring efficiency rate, converting a forward 50 entry to a goal only 19.25% of the time. The majority of sides were up around 23%, and the leaders (WC) the only team to break 25%. We also had the fewest forward 50 entries per game (45.2), with the competition average at 52, and Melbourne leading the pack with a whisker under 60. Pair those two stats up and things are pretty grim - not many entries, unlikely to score from any given entry.

On the other hand, we were 7th for center clearances, so we're capable of winning the ball, just need to be better with it.

Looking ahead to 2019.

Cripps has more help at the stoppages.
Murphy playing an outside role.
Fisher stepping up another notch.
SPS finally getting a preseason in.
O'Brien another year older.
Dow with more strength and pace to break into space.

That should mean improved delivery to strong marking targets in McKay, Curnow and McGovern, big resting forwards like Cripps, Setters and Kennedy, plus hopefully Fasolo able to break into the side in the first few weeks.

If the quality of our delivery improves, and the quality/quantity of capable targets in our forward line has increased, then we kick more goals more often, which in turn sends the ball back to the middle for another bounce (an area we perform reasonably well in).

I'm not saying we suddenly win a flag by just winning every center bounce, and kicking a goal from every clearance, rinse and repeat. But if we play to our strengths we should see significant improvement this coming season as far as scoring ability goes.

Improvement will be swift when it comes.

I agree with you. When we surge, we will surge strongly. Then finally you will be able to change your username.

There’s also the 666 impact. The centre clearances we are so good at allows us to get to 1 on 1s more often as they won’t have 2 coming off the back of the or a spare behind the ball which teams regularly use v us.
