Mmmmm... Lynch, Riewoldt as tall targets, with Martin as the third target, Higgins, Butler and Rioli mopping up.

Will be incredible to watch.

Yeah that sounds like an absolute nightmare for opposition defences.
What an instant impact Higgins has made, those names are all dangerous on paper and opposition teams need 3-4 good small defenders as they can all kick goals.

I almost want Lynch to play in the hope he won't be quite match fit / rusty and may even throw off your forward line cohesion in his first game.

Lel. Judds skew-iff stiff upper lip.

Every side has a forward line on paper that fans think looks good. As you guys think you do with your young talls.

We’ve played exciting football (for our supporters) and kicked winning scores in most games for the last two years. Changing the game plan to add Lynch is a risk, but we haven’t had a big bodied pure marking forward since Richo so it should be fun for us fans to watch. Whether he gels with the new gameplan is yet to be seen.

And no doubt he’ll be underdone.
Carlton should take advantage of this if he plays with speed out of the backline. It will be interesting to see how they counter the pressure of Rioli, Higgins, Butler and co when the heat is on down there.

Whilst i do like the way Carlton are rebuilding and starting to get a quality starting 22 together, This year in round 1 they will be extremely young and inexperienced to cope with the tigers for the 4 quarters.

Would be interesting if supporters from eah side could put together with the likely starting 22 and breakup the games played average age of each side

But i do agree with what the Tiger coaches have been saying that we were well ahead of where we are last year and i firmly believe we should play Balta + 1 of RCD or Ross

CBF crunching the numbers but ours would be very low.
Take out the few high enders we have like Simpson, Thomas and Murphy and our best 22 age and games played really plummets.

Our defence is reasonably old but our midfield and forward line are extremely young and inexperienced. The bolded are the only ones you'd consider old/experienced.

Forward Line: McKay, Curnow, McGovern, Cuningham, Gibbons, Faosolo/Polson...
Midfield: Murphy, Ed Curnow, Cripps, Fisher, Petrevski-Seton, Setterfield, Kennedy, Dow, O'Brien, Walsh...

Lots of talent there though.
We also have a lot of new faces, which typically needs at least a few games to gel and get some cohesion. You guys have a pretty settled and mature line up.

You'll win this Thursday, as you should, but who knows next year i think the odds will be closer and there's at least a more realistic chance of an upset.

Not wanting to pile on, but I dare say on field experience/leadership will be a much bigger deal this year as well due to the lack of runners.

Carlton are going to surprise a few this season.
Don't be surprised for a loss on Thursday.
I reckon it will be either Carlton close or Richmond by 40+

Yeah, Dusty 50% forward and 50% mid will be a 25 and 4 game.

Lynch will be underdone no doubt. He kicked 7 with a busted knee last time he played Carlton so if he plays I’d back him to kick at least two even if he’s blowing hard 5 mins in.

Cuningham needs to make the forward pocket position his own. He sure as hell won’t make it as a mid and looks better than the lazy Garlett and trier Polsen (good St Peters boy nontheless). Fasolo will be straight in to take his spot when he’s fit so Thursday is make or break for him. Good luck to the lad.

Reckon Gov is underdone. A fair knee into his back in a marking contest will test that fractured spine. Wouldn’t expect too much from him but he’s a decent long term pickup.

Dusty 4, because he did that in 2017? Has struggled to kick goals against us normally

Cuningham will split his time as a forward and mid, just like Rioli I guess

Garlett is far from lazy, just needs continuity in his body, a switch to defense could also help

Polson will improve as the side does

Lynch kicked 8 actually but didn't have anything wrong with his knee, we just lost some players during the course of the game, time before that he was goalless, also while he was fully fit, unlike this time

Dusty played mid against the blues in 2018 had 32 and kicked 1.3.

In 2017 he had 33 and 4 and 30 and 0.

Hardly incredulous to think if he played 50/50 fwd/mid 25 and 4 is out of the question.

So to cut your posts down..

Everything richmond is shit or overrated, everything carlton is amazing and always improving.

Cool, now leave.

Ps. Yes the game before he was goalless in a shit quality contest, however he did kick 7 on your heads in rnd 4 of that very same season

Anything is possible, yet as I said, hasn't really kicked many against us apart from round 1 2017

Hahaha i just did a TAD of research on lynch against the blues because these flogs want to keep telling us he kicked 0 the time before he kicked 8 on them

His last few games against them from most recent:
8
0
7
4
4

Lmaooo yeh he really struggles

Hmmm. Last three games against Carlton he’s had 95 possessions and 5 goals.

Will be interesting to see where Dimma chooses to play him this Thurs. Will no doubt stretch Coach Bolton if he plays mid or fwd.
