Interesting that R1 last year we were missing Houli, Prestia and Rioli. 3 high quality players tha’ll take to the field this time round.

Always better to play the lower ranked teams later in the season when they are cooked.
Carlton will be treating this, as always, like a final and will be at their peak.
Therefore, it won't be an easy game at all but we should win by 3 to 5 goals.
Anyone expecting a 100 point win is a touch optimistic... still hope that it happens!

Looking forward to seeing Lynch, obviously, the improvement in Higgins, D Rioli after a proper pre season, ditto Prestia and hopefully Balta.

The silver lining to eating humble pie at the end of last season. We're going to go into this hungry and wanting to presumably show that we are back. Last year's opener had a pretty lacklustre atmosphere imo, with the only proper cheer being dusty's goal in the last from memory. I'm looking forward to hearing the proper roar back. Not the conservative, murmur full of expectation after each goal.
