What is your teams attack out of defence like? I ask as for some reason Longmire has gone for what has to be the tallest forward line in Swans history with Buddy, Reid, Blakey and McCartin, so you guys might be able to exploit our rather slow and lumbering forward line.
That may explain Marchbank's inclusion.

Sticking with the midfield as is for now. No Problem

Marchbank straight in - Interesting, given he's had no games, anywhere.

Casboult for CCurnow - No problem.

O'Brien - Good. Wonder where he'll play.

I think

Casboult for CCurnow :thumbsu:

O'Brien on the wing and Murphy hf - Fasolo :thumbsu:

Marchbank in for Garlett :thumbsu:

Surprised in some ways but not others. Bolton was clearly upset with the performance and Garlett did get towelled up by Motlop while Fasolo struggled to get involved. Clearly the anger and desire to set the bar high outweighed the desire for continuity and synergy.
Sydney have gone big with their forward line so plausible match ups appear to be:
- Jones on Buddy
- Weitering on Reid
- Marchbank on McCartin
- Plowman on Hayward
- Newman on Ronke
- Simpson on Papley
I do like the running power that having Ed, Walsh and O’Brien in the same side gives us. Should make for good transitions forward and back.
While we’ve still got three major marking threats in attack which we could use to expose Sydney’s undersized (albeit full of run) defense.
I think we’re a chance if we bring a four quarter effort.

Depends who is on the end of it:

Ed curnow gets it life will be on pause for a while

Murphy gets it & plays on too quickly you may have a turnover

Simmo gets it we hug the boundary line, you may even get a free for out of bounds on the full

Marchbank selection seems a tad strange, limited preseason and no game time. Like him as a player but not sure this is the smartest move. Time will tell , next two weeks huge for us, have to win one if not both.

In Casboult?

Bolts has officially lost me as a fan

I think it's logical. Charlie & TDK both injured and Phillips needs support. Allows McKay to stay forward. Lot's of good reasoning IMO.

Hope they play Murphy forward with Fasolo out, SPS/Walsh & LOB on wings dropping back to help defence with run and dash.

I would have gone for Kennedy and/or Jack but they must have their reasons.

RIP Cripps.

Kennedy not even an emergency - injured again?

Just looking at the line up is Setterfield going to go to Kennedy and try and block him all the time? Swans aren't that big around the ball. Having two rucks will help as well and we can have lots of midfield rotations

Very surprised Kennedy didn't get the nod.

Kennedy and Jsos very stiff.

Would have preferred in Jsos, Kennedy and Marchbank. With the same outs.

Jsos and Kennedy can rotate through the ball and forward and give Cripps a chance to go forward.

Casboult is pretty obvious choice for me, Harry will stay forward with zero rucking time and Casboult takes the Harry role.

Just hope CAS doesn’t give his usual 3-4 stupid ruck infringement frees he tends to give away

I am however surprised about Kennedy not being in

Bull****

You cant seriously believe that?

And this isnt the first time he's selected players with no future to our detriment.
Cool off, you're a good poster who's usually quite logical. Levi is the most logical replacement as he allows Mckay to stay forward. No one else on the list does that.

The not picking Kennedy might have something to do with Paddy D. He’s been very good the last two weeks. Has gotten the ball more than 20 times in two games compared to 1 last year and is winning his own ball. Maybe they’d rather focus on Paddy’s development than Kennedys?

I would have loved Levi is allowed to play as long as he plays deep forward and let’s Harry do the up the ground work. I wanna see Levi clunk them from 10 metres out. (He’s been playing defence over the pre-season. Hope that’s improved his overall game).

They want Harry to stay forward more so I'd imagine it'd be the opposite.
