I feel it’s a good time to change the coach. I think we’re building a great squad but the gameplan is obviously flawed. New face, new game plan, new results hopefully. We’ve given Bolts unprecedented support and he’s beyond the designated refresh and things haven’t changed as far as results are concerned. I’d love Ratts to come home and reckon he would if asked, but I am open to immediate change as long as it’s not a newbie. We need positive strong vibes flowing through the club and quick.

Nothing screams positive strong vibes more than sacking a senior coach 4 rounds into a season...

Yep. They set the agenda - 66 games - and it hasn’t worked and doesn’t look like working anytime soon. We had a number of admirable losses last year too, but had some huge losses when the kids got tired. It won’t be any different this year. We need change and the installation of greater hope for supporters, because I reckon if you did a poll right now, it would be damning for the coach and the club.

I reckon that's crap given our membership numbers are through the roof.

The article said Silvagni believes we need a 66 game rebuild.

Given the magnitude of the rebuild I'm not sure how anyone could honestly take that to mean we'd be contending after those 66 games.

Clearly indicated a 66 game list build, which goes hand in hand with the club suggesting we've now got the group in place to take us forward.
Why would a list rebuild take x amount of games, rather than x amount of off-seasons?

The list still has plenty of holes to fill, the 66 game was nothing other than a distraction by the club to buy some time for what it would take. Could hardly come out and call it a 132 game rebuild, at least not at the start.

66 game list REBUILD, not 66 games until finals contenders.

Feel sorry for those that misunderstood what the club was proposing and now are disappointed in the outcome.

We are now in a consolidation phase where we seek mature players to complement the recruited and traded players and fast track their development.

We then hit the challenge in finals phase in 1-3 years time.

66 games has been misinterpreted and overblown so many times.

It was the amount if games we wpuld play in the three year period of heavy cutting/slashing and drafting/bringing in much young talented prospects as we could. That period ended and the club sent the message out that we would be entering phase two which is gelling those pieces together and that can take time.

For all the talk of "4 talls" this week

*Casboult will not be there come years end.

*McGovern is coming off an interruptes preseason and has played 4 games for the club

* McKay has played 19 games

*Charlie has just hit 50 games.

There is great things there.... on paper. But the reality is they need a lot more games together to learn running patterns, how to stretch a defense, then translate that to scores.

Time.

It's funny how we are willing to tear little strips off in the name of 'unity'. It's also funny how 'united' we still are when the club eventually make decisions to prove that we weren't so united to begin with. How about we respectfully share our honest opinions and dispense with the surreptitious nonsense?

No offence meant here. I have read countless academic texts and all sorts of literature but I cant figure this post out.

You must understand it is bloody hard to swallow though ….. 66 game reset... rebuilt …. whatever. Pub fans want results FFS. Just ask any plethora of posters in the ANY gameday thread.

Difference is, I'm 46yo, I've see the blues play in flags, youngsters have not, fair weather sailors need to harden the **** up, cough up or **** off. FFS Aint's haven't won a flag in how long? Footscray, before 16??? or whatever year it was. Hell geebung haven't won a flag since 12. The Brions? 2003 ….. Suns???? GWS? (yes they have been around since 2012! That's 7 years ago!

Bitchmond? How long between drinks?

Its all bloody relative.

How is it possible to determine the exact moment when things turn ... I believe if ALL the components are put into place ... with a clear plan ... that all of the components believe in ... it simply cannot fail ... when it turns though is the unknown ... and all great things always ... start from the unknown ... :) ...

...Blighty didn't set the world on fire as a coach...
Sorry to truncate your post but hell's bells, are you saying 5 grand final appearances for 2 flags in 9 full seasons is ordinary? Yeah I'm overlooking ill advised short term stints at the Roos and Saints, but that doesn't detract from his achievements.

Just a thought...not everybody has to get along in the workplace for the workplace to be successful.

Wouldn't be the first time 2 key personnel didn't see eye to eye yet were successful. Take a look at the Los Angeles Lakers between 2000-2009.

Not saying the rumours are true, but if they are, who gives a shizen. I'm tired of hearing about X doesn't get on with Y in the rumours. Can the people who make up the rumours come up with something new?
Let's face it, when a club is going through hard times, there are always going to be tensions amongst key personnel as the pressure mounts.

Compare it to a club like the Tiggs that have gone through the same pressures over time. There was talk of takeover bid on the Board, coach sacking and all sorts of negative stuff coming from the club when they were struggling.

Just have at look at the harmony over there now after success...our time will come too.

The reason I’m critical of the DeKoning selection is because it was a terrible list management decision, we needed mids not talls.

De Koning may turn into a jet, but we needed mids.

LOB a gem, once again I hope so but he’s not the type of player we should have taken at 10.
We need a developing ruckman. Fail to see how it was a poor decision.

It starts at Sun records...draw a line and work out the equilateral tangent via the bermuda triangle and hanging rock
divide by the number of your favourite player....plus 16

ok now put in a medium oven for 1 and a half hours

And there you have it......oh thats ok ...glad to help......;)

No Doormat, my only point was that great players with heaps of experience aren't necessarily going to be game changers from a coaching perspective.
As I mentioned in my post, all respect to SOS. We are not going to win 3 + GF's in the next decade by copying the Taggers, Doggies, etc.. We need a new "Blueprint" on the game. The cultural change happening within the club is massive.... top to bottom. I am hoping like hell that Bolts and SOS together are going to bring the personnel to execute an innovative game plan that gives us those 3 + GF's

Never ever try to copy. It's a sure way to mediocrity in sport.

Probably shouldn't have used Blighty as an example... point taken
