I really think we can stretch the Bulldogs up forward, particularly if Charlie is now fully over the knee issue and McGovern can play out a full game.
They will get us on the spread though, so the defence will have to really stand up, even more!

Totally correct. We dont have a spread as we sit like statues. A team that is spreading offensively and defensively really well is St Kilda and guess who has a hand in that.

Gibbons got way more involved. If we stopped bombing it on his head in a size mismatch, I suspect most people would be saying he had a good game last week.
Would it hurt him to lead when he's 1 on 1?
Why play forward if you have no idea how to make a lead.
Seriously that footage on afl360 was pretty damning. It was purely no effort and no idea. At least put in a player who knows how to play - I don't care how tall he is! Even bring in Vescio she would rip it up!!

In: Kruezer Jack Kennedy Stocker Polson Schumacher
Out: Lobbe Settefield

Kreuzer named in the extended squad and Williamson and Macreadie to play VFL...

It's an Easter resurrection miracle!!!

Think you’re right..he kick passed it to CCurnow at least three times but Charlie only marked one (and goaled). He also hand passed to Ed in front of goals but Ed missed. Sure he did other useful stuff as well.

Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about a bruised kidney.

Can easily be a six week injury.

If he returns to contact sport too early, it could result in complications that could leave him out of the game for a long time.

Yes. This. Until a specialists signs him off he can’t do any contact work. He could be back next week or in a month. It’s bloody unlucky is what it is.

Seriously, what was gibbons supposed to do? grab the talls by the hair and lead them to their leads in the forward 50?

So are we playing the: “list fringe players as emergencies just for experience” trick? You’re it Schuey!

I don’t think it helps to make too many changes each week. Unless we are forced to make a change (injury/suspension) we should give more time for players to get familiar with game plan or a given set of instructions. Players that get dropped don’t have the opportunity to learn immediately (as in the following week) while it is still fresh in their minds.

Well we begged for some injury luck. Begged for consistent selection of the same team.
We begged for a decent fitness expert and not to bring players back too soon to avoid re-occurences.
And so that is exactly what we are getting and thank goodness at last.
Anybody complains about ins and outs have a think about that.

Our mids are going to have to seriously run hard both ways for 4 quarteres if we're to win this. At times, teams that play similar to the bulldogs have been able to kick/handball chain straight through the centre of the ground against us way too easily.

I have a weird feeling this won't be an honorable loss. Strange to say, but I feel we'll either win or get well beaten, depending on which bulldogs team shows up and how hard our players are prepared to work.

If :
In : Kreuzer Silvagni Kennedy
Out : Casboult Lobbe Setterfield
Then :
Simpson Jones Marchbank
Plowman Weitering Newman
Walsh Cripps O’Brien
Murphy Curnow Silvagni
McGovern McKay Fisher

Kreuzer Kennedy SPS

Thomas Dow Curnow Gibbons

Looking more balanced with hopefully Setterfield Cuningham and Williamson back within a fortnight.

Schumacher, Polson and Kennedy have all been travelling emergencies so I reckon they all need to play VFL this week otherwise it’s been ages since any footy. I’d say one of Silvagni, O’Brien or gibbons miss out and are the held out emergency from VFL.

I’m now pretty confident that we won’t get blown out of the water any more. Defensively we are much better and expect to improve further with a few more coming back in ..like Willo.

Good luck to him, I don’t recall him beating the door down, just saying... If he plays, though I doubt it, I hope he blitzes.

FAIL! ….. forget the ELSE …….

I'm a few pints deep but I like those ins. The big Kreuz is always a positive. Dont think Shoey will be in the final squad.
