Also glad to see Daisy out there playing good footy.

Despite being a big name recruit and not having the impact many hoped I think he’s always been a solid player for us. Particularly since he’s moved down back.

He goes hard at every contest and clearly wants to win. Also a calming presence down back and sets an example of how to attack the footy for the youngsters.

Glad he has hung around.
That spoil of Daisy’s, if he’d missed the ball he would’ve got 20 weeks :D:D:D

Agree. I thought Gibbons & Jack having time in the middle made SPS Dow Walsh Fisher more effective. That size and smarts helps
Gibbons especially. Just finished watching it on replay. His link up play is superb. He’s composed in traffic through the middle of the ground. Seems very at home there Obvs. I felt he gave our mids a massive boost today.

I still see it differently. Our disposal efficiency was up from 71 to 79 from last week. If we had mirrored that against the Suns, we would have spanked them

That's true, our efficiency was up and we clearly used the ball better by hand and foot.

Our forward line actually functioned together, last week it just didn't work. I feel like our key forwards didn't really know their roles as there was one too many.

It was much more clearly defined this week.

Good defensive structure all around the ground.

Interesting stat: first 4 games in 2018 we copped over 100 points in each of those games; and 13 in total for the year. This year that number is zero.
As far as our defence goes other than injuries last year I wasn’t sure whether the biggest loss to our defence was Docherty or the loss of Amos as coach, the first 5 rounds this year have answered that question resoundingly in favour of Amos, as much as we miss the Doc we where lost last year without Amos’s coaching in defence, what an asset he is, long may he remain our defence coach and god help anyone who tries to move him again.

I am a very happy Carlton supporter today. I went to the Gold Coast game last week so this has helped wipe the memory of that awful final minute.
There was a good turn out of Carlton supporters today and we were very loud during the game, especially when Walsh kicked that final goal.
Happy Easter everyone, enjoy.

I guess we all see it differently and I know most prefer a shorter setup, but I prefer a tall over a small as long as we are as mobile and agile

Of the 19 players that played last week, 14 of 19 improved their efficiency

It's kind of crazy how much our ball movement and that 'mid/forward' connection improved out of sight in just one week.

We were horrendous vs GC, yet we looked really slick today vs Dogs.
Gibbons and SPS responsible. Gibbons really opened up play with his run and link up. Moving him up to hff perfect. SPS ball use is lethal and they clearly had a simple game plan today: give it to sps.

We have had some scrappy wins in recent years. Always against the odds.
Everything stacked against us. Courageous wins along the way few and far between. Those losses that could have been wins.

Today we belted a team. For four quarters we had control. Doesn't matter who we played today or where they are on the ladder because our boys had decided.
We outplayed, out ran, our skills were superior, we had the will to win.
I was hopeful even confident this was going to happen after last week seeing their faces.
So now what?
I say there is miles of improvement to come. This sort of rebuild has never been done before. A club that took a battering then chose to suffer pain in order to fix a sea of problems onfield and off.
All credit to the CFC.

Now the really hard work begins to build the list further in incremental steps and make winning an expectation backed up by the skill and depth and will of all involved.

Just watched the replay again for the 2nd time. We still won!

Love the goal in last seconds by Walsh from Dow. Brilliant

Not sure it's been mentioned but I reckon Charlie & Setterfield being out helped.

I rate both extremely highly but Charlie has struggled and the combination of McKay/Casboult works better at the moment. Setterfield is still getting fit and very much finding his way. Only played 6 games and wasn't finding the ball enough. Allowed Jack in and Gibbons on ball who both played well.

Just thought it gave us a much more even contribution today that we hadn't had all season

Plowman, thomas, JSOS, Casboult were our C and D graders who played like B graders.

I can't see it with Polson. His had plenty of chances. Gibbons is also not best 22.

Overtime Kennedy, Williamson, Cunningham, Curnow replace Obrien, Gibbons, Polson Casboult/Mcgovern and maybe Newman.
