Plowman, thomas, JSOS, Casboult were our C and D graders who played like B graders.

I can't see it with Polson. His had plenty of chances. Gibbons is also not best 22.

Overtime Kennedy, Williamson, Cunningham, Curnow replace Obrien, Gibbons, Polson Casboult/Mcgovern and maybe Newman.

Is it me? Tackle numbers have fallen off the proverbial cliff. Or that’s how it appears to me. 60 to 42 today and we won. An average of 10 per quarter would have been a reason for losing a game of footy but not this season.
maybe they spent the day chasing us and not the other way round for a change..........

OMFG. THATS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT!!!

Great offensive and defensive footy.

SPS just became elite. McKay showed that he can be.

I love my coaching moves. Gibbo high half fwd with time in the mid was out 6th best ranked player. Fish playing up forward and on the outside whilst playing mid.

The cripps to sps combo is gonna win us 3 flags.

**** I'm happy.

Defence rock solid. For all the plow haters was our 5th best ranked player. Absolutely huge.

Team defence on point.

Brilliantly coached. He had the boys up and backed our strength rather than trying to nullify their strength. The words around Bolts quickly go away.

Daisy and murph immense for us.

MK is great to have out there despite his atrocious goal kicking and awful fwd 50 marking.

Negatives: nothing terrible. Polson did nothing again and just isnt an afl small forward. Needs to go out for Kennedy.
Agree. Plowman did not put a foot wrong. Was so happy to see him rock solid and seemingly growing in confidence as the game went on.

22 disposals at 95%, plenty of marks, equal high 1%s, 3rd best rebounder and a couple of inside 50's.

John McEnroe would be yelling at you for that crap.
Yet if u watch the game u will see him either lose contests with his oppo or let his man have a free run and mark. This happened 3 or 4 times. Gowers twice Lloyd once that I can recall. While he was pretty good offensively he needs to get stronger in the contest.

Watching on tv, just seconds before the first bounce and they have the camera on Kreuzer...it felt calming to see him in there. He has presence no doubt.

He didn't seem to actually play much either...looked like we nursed him through the game.
We had both McKay and Casboult helping out in the ruck.

Was probably the perfect game for Kreuz to blow out the cobwebs since we were up against only English.

I said the same thing a few weeks ago and said it again today..... Paddy Cripps is the best player to EVER wear the navy blue

Getting off topic. Impossible to define a best, although Kouta was superhuman there for a while. All I know is that Cripps is in the pantheon with Sticks, SOS, Rats, Diesel, Braddles, Dominator and about ten other players I could name.

THE STATS THAT MATTER

* Days since we last kicked 100 points: 1

* Carlton undefeated in the last 7 days

* VFL/AFL players to have 24+ possessions in their first five matches: 1) Sam Walsh 2) no one

* StickyMitts Award 2019: Harry McKay

* Players that I am in love with named Patrick Cripps: Patrick Cripps

* Entire list of people globally that I am wiling to excuse their Rat's tails: Prince Akeem of Zamunda, SPS

Will pen my thoughts after watching the replay later today.

The competition for spots is intense and will become even more intense.

There is a legitimate case for Charlie to earn his spot via the VFL.

Williamson a shining light in the VFL yesterday, probably needs another 3 games under his belt to press for Senior duties. Kennedy building, not really match fit. Lang has a way to go until match fit, there is a place for him in the 22 if he gets there. Stocker building. Macreadie playing again. Schumacher’s been Senior 22 emergency a few times. Be interesting to see which way Garlett goes.

Setterfield available week after next and probably a legitimate case to ear his spot via the VFL too.

Cuningham out injured, probably 1-2 VFL games and back in the Senior 22.

After that I think it’s TDK, Pickett and Docherty.

80% TOG, but spent a bit of time forward.

I'll be watching the replay tomorrow but that surprises me tbh.

For memory i saw Cas and McKay rucking quite a bit throughout the day, more than they would when Kreuz is 100% fit, and only noticed Kreuz having an impact up forward twice, when he took a nice mark on the lead and when he dropped one.

Agree with Charlie and Setters playing VFL and earning it rather than being automatic ins.
Boy who would have thought many of us would be saying that about Charlie right now and picking big Cas over him!

I'd have Cunners come straight in for Polson though.

On the doggies side, it's madness that they didn't tag Samo in the first half. If he reaches 30 disposals at any point, you've lost the match.

Their midfield was surprisingly woeful, or ours surprisingly dominant. Or both.

While it was a good win, the dogs really did kick themselves out of the game with some terrible shots at goal that could have completely changed the game had they nailed them.

The same could be said for us a number of times in recent years & as recent as last Sunday when we missed a number of shots on goal (Gibbons had 2 posters, Ed missed a snap he would normally nail, Harry missed one). It is the nature of the beast. Missed shots on goal can be momentum killers, so if this happens, it is your own bad luck & ultimately shouldn't detract from the winning team, who have better capitalised on their opportunities.
