Why? Harry did his time there. Charlie has looked "off" this season, and injury has exacerbated it. Boys coming off a big win, Harry + Gov + Levi worked. Give Charlie a run in the 2s to a) find some touch, and b) build some hunger. Reckon a reminder that he's not a walk up start will light a fire under him and bring out his best.

Love seeing so many posts after a match and they are positive! I'm only halfway through the thread but here's some thoughts from me that absolutely nobody demanded:

- We controlled the ball beautifully and in stark contrast to the week before. Bolts has talked about how 'coachable' this group is before and this is a great example; a complete 180 on the ball control from last game. We selected a tall team again, but this time it worked because we played to our strength (height). This is something that is often overlooked - playing the game style to suit your team is far more important that getting some arbitrary 'team balance' right. The balance is relative to your game plan. We got that balance right.

- Tackling pressure was good in our F50. Could probably lift a little more around the ground, but the low numbers might be explained by the above team selection point.

- We used the middle of the park when it was on and did it pretty well. Sexy.

- Listened to Bevo's post-game presser and I liked hearing him praise the way our defenders play as a unit. Seems they are demanding respect from opposition coaches and teams. Excellent.

- Good to see some love for the Plow. He hasn't deserved the criticism this year. After round 3 he was rated the 7th best general defender in the comp.

- Loved Walsh's celebratory "V" for Vanilla sign at the end :)

- Polson didn't get much of it but the pressure was there. His shepherd set up Gibbons' first goal. Gotta lift or risk being dropped for Cunners.

- LOB had a down game but never stops trying. I think he will get there but it will just be a slower burn. I reckon he will be a lot like Isaac Smith who was drafted later than usual. Except now we have him in our system for a few years before he is ready to go bang.

The big question is whether this is a turning point or a flash in the pan. Can't wait to find out :)

Is it actually not beyond the realms of possibility that someone at the club asked Caro to publicly bake Harry and SPS on Footy Classified in order to fire them up ? (Things like this have been known to happen in the past)

If yesterday is the net and tangible result of Caro roasting our players, than sign me up for seconds (Charlie next Miss Wilson x)

I just find it fascinating that both those boys played their lights out yesterday. Maybe i am watching too much Game of Thrones to be swayed into thinking such a Machiavellian tactic by the club 😂😂😁

Great write up Shan

Different roles, gs. The defenders in line for replacement by a linebreaker are Newman and (soon enough) Simpson. Nobody on the list does what Plowman does, he's still one of the first picked every week.
Plows field kicking is pretty good but I think he needs to work on his body positioning and how he approaches contests..he often ends up in a non-advantageous position after the challenge...some rugby type training would be very beneficial for him

I have been a huge fan of Daisy’s passion and commitment to our cause. Was great AGAIN today. Love what he brings to this young group; passion & toughness.

To think one particular poster continually banged on all last year about him being too old and past his best (whilst banging on about how good Lebois was!!).

Now there are posters potting a young player (in his 2nd year) trying his guts out who has the kicking yips.

Dow does a lot right. His confidence/kicking/decision making will improve with more exposure at the top level.

Not sure why we have to pot our players, particularly those that give it a red hot crack.

I don’t mind the players getting potted. I’ve been in a position where I’ve been potted on the radio, in the paper and on forums regarding my sporting performance. Obviously not to the level AFL players cop it, but still pretty ruthless. In my case it was recently over my performance dropping because I’ve gotten older.

Copped some hilarious roasts from my teammates and personally found it quite helpful and funny

I think if it’s actually true it can be helpful

it was a turning point, it was brilliant. I hope they now play Charlie high up on a wing pushing forward and leave ED ON THE BALL LIKE THE LAST QUARTER.
8 TOUCHES AND HIS BEST QUARTER OF SEASON. Jack was good and topped score assists with 4. Levi should be the biggest beneficiary of what little time the 6-6-6 offers one on one close to goal. He should stay close, Harry in the middle and Charlie high. This will worry all teams. Paddy Dow is a jet and fully agree the composure is coming. And young Walshy, has there been a better first 5 games? And i dont believe we can underestimate the difference Kruze makes , we just gotta hope he can put some games together.
And we just have to thank God we have Crippa, would be leading Brownlow clearly and well on his way to becoming the greatest player we have ever had, that's how good he is.

Bring on the Hawks

Samo and Harry have been good for 5 weeks other than Harry missing a few shots. But that last minute loss hurt them far more than anything she said I am sure. Then again maybe Judd had a word to both about sticking it right up people being part of the journey......

Hey, it's a free world.

However. the cheapest budget package for Foxtel available today is $58 per month, "discounted" from $88 - and that's basicly sport plus a load of old shite.

For that you can have Kayo, plus Netflix plus Stan plus Spotify premium for your music and have 5 bucks left over.
Yep, I have the basic + sports + drama + HD and it costs me around $60 a month which I think is a rip. Once GoT is over I’ll have no use for the drama pack and the basic pack is crap.

I’ve got Netflix and I’m thinking that coupled with Kayo should sort me nicely. Is Kayo HD any good though? Asking for a friend.

Loved it! I seriously think they took all the shit this week, and showed us what they are made of! Sterner stuff than I thought I’ll admit.

SPS surprised me. Not with his skills, his focus was lethal this week

I've got Kayo running directly through the Sony TV, quality is pretty good despite my ass internet, can get 1080p during the day easily but 720p usually at night (due to local internet congestion).

Just call them tell tell you are going to cancel and they will reduce your package price. ;)

Worked for me.
Every year for the past six years I’ve done exactly that :D:D

Nope but I got a hard on though..... when the boundary line passages failed … they cut through the centre. They took the game on …. on their OWN terms.

SPS was only huge because of crippa ….. he fed him like a child .... but the silk ...oh the silk ….

Then when Cowboy needed a rest ….. Nemo to clean up the hard fought stoppages ….

IMMENSE!

You want players, playing to their strengths

I don't want SPS, as the extractor, Cripps, Kennedy can do that role. I want SPS playing that first receiver then using his vision and disposal for the next best option, whether that is a runner streaming past or hitting a target up the ground

Better things to come from this kid

Well...no-one asked Trump to be a dumb dumb..he just is.

Good natured roasting is fine; Potting a 19 y.o or a veteran in good form is unnecessary and helps no one.
