I’d love to give him games to develop but he needs to actually compete. Having a couple of little knock ons each match may look cute to the casual observer but he’s not doing near enough.

ozph1870, it is a practical question. Players may be tired at any point of the season for an infinity variety of reasons. It doesn't matter which round is.

Now, you must know your players. If they aren't looking tired, their history and tests doesn't point to injury due exhaustion, and their replacement aren't reliable at all, it may be better keep them playing. All I am saying is that we should be considering rotating the players; especially after last week effort in Perth. It was mentally and physically taxing.

Our preparation is for the pick to happen in September. It is not everyone that is ready for Finals footy at this point. Those would gain from resting. That's all.

Am I picking Marshall next week, well the answer is yes, but far out. He is just so far off the required level at the moment. Put him under any physical pressure in a marking contest and he is useless.

This opinion is going to get blasted, but it's 100% the truth, as hard as that may be for many to hear.

Our midfield defence late was deplorable, and even when we won the ball back it was always one too many pointless handballs.

How our players aren’t taught to handball then put their arms out and protect the ball carrier is beyond me. Clearly no voice also. Basics we just suck at.

I thought the ‘Butcher has to earn his place’ (as we get intercepted to death 2015 onwards), was bad, but Marshall is a cut above him (sorry Butch, I still love you though) and STILL we get this. The inability to see what he brings to our side is something I’d expect from franchise club fans who nothing about football, not Port fans.

Marshall kind of reminds me of the Hoff when he first started. He has a great footy brain. We just need to be a little patient with him. He will be as important to us as the Hoff turned out to be.

We need to work on our kicking.. 2.7 in the last clearly isn't good enough.

Conciding all the young players we have and some of the players we lost last year or are injured, we are going alright. Future looks bight in my eyes.

We were a lot younger and less experienced than North tonight.

Melbourne- Impressive win. Although, in hindsight Melbourne have been poor this year so it wasn't that noteworthy.
Carlton- We expected to win and played sub-par football.
Brisbane- This would also have been marked out as a winnable game. We lost in a game we should have won.
Richmond- This would have been marked out as a tough game. However, considering the players they were missing we should have won, which we didn't.
West Coast- Same as above. This was an impressive win.
North Melbourne- This would have been marked out as a winnable game.

Ken has low standards! No wonder we've been underachieving under his tenure. "We get what we deserve". **** off Ken!!!

Spot on. Some people on this forum just can't handle honest comments on their favs though. They see what they want to see and not the reality. We ALL want Marshall to succeed, but let's call a spade a spade, when he is good like last week we praise him and then tonight when he was just plain shit, there's nothing wrong with calling it out.
