The lists he took to prelim finals were very average imo

It wouldn't have been he's decision to not bottom out over the journey at north

A hard nut is exactly what I think our young, talented (but soft and soulless) team needs

10 years as coach for 4 finals campaigns (two prelims) none in the last 3 years. According to wiki 3rd most games coached ever without a grand final.

I know the record is better than Bolton’s but it’s not exactly one you’d move on the incumbent and his supporters for.

Don't understand people saying if we hire xyz as coach I'll stop supporting the club.

We support. That's what we do people. We've put up with the last 20 years. Why jump ship now?

If we change coach. We take a breath, sigh, say "alright... let's go again" and we get behind it.

At the end of the day we won't know if it's a good or bad decision until years down the track.

How does anyone here know what he is like? Now I'm no Scott fanboi, but Im not ignorant enough to even go close to suggesting I have any idea what he is like, and I would suggest no-one here is any wiser.

Their list got old and Scott wasn't allowed to bottom up (see the recruitment of Polec, Hall etc). I would kill for a coach who could take us to two prelims in the next decade. It's better than anything we've had since Parkin.

I will put a lazy dollar on Clarkson being our next coach if - and a big if - Bolton loses the role. Hopefully this doesn't happen and doesn't need to happen.

I don't think anything good can come out of getting an interim coach mid season. We need a thorough club-wide end of season review, may well be that very little of our current predicament is related to coaching.

His recent media presentation doesn't align with his perception from those within north (not players, but administrative side). They did sack him mid-season, even after he offered to coach out the year.....if that doesn't raise any sort of alarm bells, then we have different perspectives

Im gonna go with the simple answer rather than make assumptions. There was a different perspective on the direction of the club and they thought it was in their best interests to sack him. We don't have any other substantial evidence to suggest he was egotistical, stubborn, a control freak, or whatever else people are saying.

All the things i have seen point to a loyal man with strong core values.

Imo did very well with a club with arguably the least resources in the league.

He and his brothers are flogs but I think they are good coaches. Not masterminds or 'greats' by any stretch but more than capable of getting the best out of a side.

I’m a big fan of Cunnington but I would not want us to chase him. We are already good at clearances and will only get better next year and we already get smashed on the spread and Cunnington would just make us worse. Gun player but I don’t think he’s our man. Besides if Adelaide make finals he is going to cost two firsts.

I have a feeling i'll get smashed for this but would much rather Higgins than Cunnington. Both top players but as you mention cunnington isnt the right player for us.

Higgins 31 yes but still has 3 years at least in him and thats probably enough time for our younguns (pun intended) to come on.

Not saying anything about Bolton. If Bolton were to go (as much as I think we should persist one more season) I'd be happy to look at Ratten or Clarkson or a third party, and maybe even Voss or Lyon at a stretch.. but Brad Scott? He's not a good coach and an ever worse bloke. I've never hated a Carlton coach, I couldn't imagine sitting here every week thinking Brad Scott is representing our club..
