No inside info, but article from The Feral Scum

Note: Bolded by me for emphasis.

Typical, just mention Carlton in any article and you’re guaranteed of a 300-500k increase. Better yet, just follow us on Insta or Twitter and that’s another 100-200k.

Anyone heard that Tippa is putting off contract talks until the end of the season and that we are one of the clubs circling? He will most likely stay and is just trying to worry Essendon into giving him a big pay day but still interesting.

Can’t believe he’s 27, is that real or Eddie Betts years?

The knee injury would have thrown a spanner in the works for Cogs. Stops playing, frustrated, team has lost momentum, will probably bow out in a semi-final again... I was confident he was staying but now i reckon there's a chance.

Gee whiz a trio of Cripps, Coniglio and Walsh is next bloody level.

Wow I can't believe that. Genuinely shocked to hear that.

Yeah, that will change his priorities. He doesn't have the luxury of knowing he has 10-15 years of great income, he's probably only got 1 shot at a big contract so fair enough that he's shopping himself around.

Coniglio would be great but I'm not fussed if it doesn't happen

Cripps Walsh Setterfield Dow Stocker Kennedy Cuningham O'Brien Fisher Jack Gibbons DeLuca will be very very good.

Personally I'd like a quality running defender, a small forward and a Ruckman
Aside Cripps that midfield group is extremely raw. Imo we need someone in their prime to bridge the gap whilst our young players come into their prime. But I agree that we don't need an out and out A-grader. Even a Jaryd Lyons type would be fine.

If you think that, that list will be able to carry our midfield going forward you need to be more realistic. Half of them don't even play midfield.

Probably the surest sign of all of that a player is joining a new club (Probably even moreso than a club announcement and press conference with said player); Patrick Cripps is now following Coniglio on insta.

Get the jersey ready, he's coming!
What number do ya reckon??

There's little point worrying about something should it not come about, but factoring in that no trading currency would be handed over, makes for a terrific start point for him. As we know, Shiel cost Essendon 2 * First rounders (still can't believe it) yet Coniglio is far the better player and better fit for us.

Yes, we do have all those young mids coming through and even though they'll be a year older, stronger and fitter, one can see just how much of a difference dropping in the older and wiser heads, in ECurnow and Murphy makes.

He's Italian...SOS is Italian. He'll come. :)

I reckon friendships is one of the most underrated reasons players will choose a particular club.

You don't hear it mentioned much by media and posters on here...they always refer to money and premiership chance. But i think having friends and players around your age at a club would be a really big incentive.

We know he's best mates with JOM and Hawthorn have a lot of players around his age.

We on the other hand do not. Will play a role in his decision i'm sure. Just how much is the question.
On the flip side of that, Papley's good mate is Newy who would 100% have been in his ear all year. If we finish above/next to Sydney and requests a trade home - he's as good as ours.

I'm sorry, it's attitudes like this that lead to the crapfights we often see develop.

Who are you to say another posters opinion is crap or that a rumour they post is a troll?

Too often a poster comes on here with an opinion or something he/she may have heard only to be subjected to ridicule which often develops into a tag team offence forcing said poster onto the back foot. They are often then goaded into saying something that they may regret in the cold hard light of reality.

Have you ever noticed that when one of these situations develop into sanction territory that, almost without exception, it is the original poster that is sanctioned?

Tolerance is a two way street and should always be accompanied by the acceptance that everyone here is primarily a fellow Carlton supporter. No one has to agree with what they post but why should anyone feel that it is their right to denigrate, belittle and attack them?
These are fair and reasonable words. No argument from me.
But I hope you also can see the difference between you berating me directly and a general statement such as I made that is not aimed at anyone in particular.

As to opinions that is very personal and we all have a wide ranging set of them and so be it, but at the same time there are times when posters surely have said things just to poke a stick in the hornets nest and disturb the peace. At such times its fairly normal that other people take umbrage.
And that is the kind of thing I was referring to in my reply to JustaBattler

As to sanctions thats none of my business and the mods do as they see fit, with I assume more information to make decisions upon than the rest of us are privy to.

Allow me to reduce that to a simpler and direct to the point question - I wonder whether SOS is relieved for Bolton to be gone?
Relieved may be the wrong term. Glad may be the more appropriate one.

I have to say and putting myself in SOS's position, I sure would be.

Who knows? But 6 weeks ago the media were saying he’d stuffed the list build. Now the list is ‘to die for’.

It would be great if he joined..unfortunately my 'family' source suggests Hawks if he did leave. They've been hovering for years.

But things change.. it wasn't too long ago Shiel was signed, sealed and delivered as a Blue and Setterfield only wanted Bombers.
I cant see how they could afford both Patton and Cogs aswell as resigning Mitchell just yesterday.

Certainly wasn’t clear in BB’s eyes, and the way players are performing recently is showcasing our talent a lot better than the start of the season, including their best positions.

The talent was undeniable even if you or I were coaching

And don't think that young players and or the team won't have form slumps

Everything is always better when new

Yeah, in retrospect it probably does come across as berating you, so apologies for that.

Truth is my response was entirely directed at the post not the poster because there are quite a number of people here that could have written that and it is a personal bugbear of mine that those arguments happen as regularly as they do.

I have found myself in that position after a post that some didn't agree with and have been subjected to that tag team approach. Not going to go into it here because I have learned when to withdraw but I can assure you it is very easy to get drawn in when multiple players want part of the action.

I have to say there are a lot of times when I bite my tongue as well.

Wowee I’m glad you are not our list manager! You don’t truly believe that is a midfield capable of competing for premiership glory?

Cunningham hasn’t shown much on ball, LOB is a wingman, Fisher weighs 70 kilos and should not be a midfielder, jack is a good soldier, gibbons probably doesn’t get a game in any other midfields and deluca come on he’s played 1 game for us.
