Will he go an early pick or way down the line..... ?

I remember the blues not using f/s on hunters son. He went to Melbourne.... I dont think hes playing on any lists or at least senior games at the moment....

Will Carlton use a higher than wanted pick on him ?

It ain't the clubs choice. Reported in The Age this morning he's nominating

I realise that but Sheldon told the club he would delay it another year. Reports this morning confirm otherwise.

Good on him for nominating. He shouldnt have to wait around until it suits Carlton. I hope he turns out to be a player and bites the Blues on the bum. I've heard he has alot of talent, so its a chance.

I wonder if the Crows will be interested.

played a handful of u18's games and didn't do much. considering the depth and quality of this draft, i'd be very surprised any club took him. having said that, i think the saints may consider it given dad is there

I would say its extremely likely he will be picked up. Sounds like he has received alot of interest from rival clubs. He is bottom age and a nice size, worth a late pick at least.

Carlton at pick 51
He isn't worth pick 51 if it means

Of course he has lots of talent since that would make Carlton look foolish and you love taking a shot at us when you can. We're happier with drafting Kade Simpson instead of the delisted Cameron Hunter and there might be more talented players available at 51, 67 and 81 this year than Sam.

We don't want any Cameron Clokes.

Weaver had him going in his mock draft between 50 and 60 I think (actually, it may have been to Carlton).

I'm glad that he decided if he could get into the system earlier to do. And I hope Carlton picks him up at 51/67, as I like seeing traditions continue.

It always seemed a little unfair to me that he was being asked to wait a year. If anything happened to him, it seemed he was the one going out on a limb. I was interested in the article on this in The Age about the other previous F/S candidates who have been asked to wait a year.

Makes you wonder if anyone had told J.Brown they'd pick him up, whether he would be playing for someone else now.

He's better than Carlton fans are talking about - Could go between 25 and 40, IMO.

he is nowhere near pick 25 to 40.

If Brisbane are keen as reported I hope it is for a very late pick.

He was probably worth waiting on carlton's guarantee. He is not talented enough to be taken as a 17 year old. This could backfire on him.

Hawthorn was very intrested in him, Of what i remember they wanted to pick him up with there first or second pick.

So he gave up a year of football/salary because the Lions asked him to? That was nice of him.

(Actually, was that Hawthorn interested in him in the first year he was eligible or the second year when Brisbane actually picked him up F/S?)

S. Sheldon to the Saints?
I believe the tradition is for the player to be drafted by the Crows, then get traded for by the Saints.

It could even work in our favour if we pick him up late. Rather than using a third round pick next round, we could get him for a fourth or fifth pick this year. Of course that depends on whether we pick him up at all, and on whether we comes along enough in that time.
