From same person who told me Ratten would be named coach this week at saints.
Told me Melbourne are shopping Angus Brayshaw around which we have shown interest.
Sydney are very unlikely to let go of Papley however we are interested in Ben Ronke who is apparently looking for a change of scenery now that Sydney have a lot of depth in that area of the ground he is no longer guaranteed best 22.

Would take Brayshaw off their hands, at the right price but unlikely off the back of a 4yr contract signed last year.

Teague/SOS power struggle is an extreme media beat up. There's been long standing rumours that SOS is power crazy and is trying to take over Carlton, saying this is a power struggle plays that up some more.

Teague said it himself on RSN that early on he didn't really voice his opinion in list management meetings as he didn't even know if he'd stick around, but recently had started to get involved. I'd imagine this is a case of that.

From a list management perspective you can see why they'd say no, but a coach might say "I can get use out of this player and I think he'd have an excellent effect on culture and morale", then the discussions go from there. List management profile vs the individual and environment the coach is trying to create.

Morris is simply trying to word this in a confrontational way that will create drama. Kindly p!ss off, Tom.

Would LOVE Gus at Carlton. Absolute elite inside mid, perfect to help out Cripps. He's also only 24 this year. Had a down year this year because a. Melbourne and B. Goodwin seemed to play him every single position except inside mid for whatever reason. Could be a gun and perfect replacement for Ed when he starts to slow down/retire.

Interesting. Not the first time Brayshaw has been mentioned.

What would Jack Martin cost us? Keeping it as simple as possible. Say... a swap of pick 8 for pick 17 this year we plus give up next year's first be reasonable?

I would say a pick around 15 is fair.

So id like us to either trade down from 8 to 15 whilst hopefully picking up a 2nd rounder along the way. Or.

Trade our future 1st and ask GC to upgrade one of our late picks this year to a 3rd rounder or better.

Teague should listen to SOS. Betts is like meeting your old flame from 80s. She ain't what she was....move on

I'd be disappointed to hear we landed Eddie only for the fact to me it means we missed our on target 1,2 and 3 and essentially failed in our attempt to bring in a gun small forward. There wouldn't be a need for him if we got someone like Papley and Gray.

People are getting caught up in the romance and the fact he still kicked a reasonable 37 goals this year, but it's still money and a list spot. Also, it could turn a bit ugly if come round 8 next year his form is poor and he needs to be dropped...especially if we give a 32 (soon 33) year old a 2 year deal. Even if he has a good year, he'll need to be replaced in 2021 or 2022 and we'll need to integrate a new small forward into the line up.

If we don't land any decent small forwards i guess i'm ok with it as he would still be our best small forward, but that's exactly the problem that we've had to resort to a 33 year old stop-gap instead of a gun up-and-coming player.

Maybe pick 8 + next years rd 2 for Jack Martin and 17
Then we could trade 17 & 2020 1st round for Wines or Papley (someone of that ilk, basically).

The AFL probably won't be happy with the club having no first 2 round picks for 2 years, though, so we'd likely need to trade someone out for a pick or 2...

Can't see how the AFL cna complain, we have 8 in the past 4 and 5 in the last 3, Geelong, Hawthorn and Melbourne have 1 in the last 4 between them.

If MFC are in chance for B.Hill, there was talk that Freo were keen on getting Gus to join Andy at the Dockers.

Yep she was the old flame from the 80's and definitely isn't what she used to be, but hey, if she still kicked 11 goals more than our leading goal kicker this season in her worst season, in an environment she was unhappy.

That must make us Lang Hancock.

Im all aboard getting Eddie, but who is seriously considering offering a 2 year deal, that's madness.

You mentioned Sam Grey, i would way rather have Eddie for a year and draft another small, than bring in Sam Grey, who will be delisted in 2 seasons anyway.

37 goals isn't just reasonable, our leading goal kicker had 26. 37 goals in context to our side is elite and would have seen us win 2 or more games this year.
