Remember when we nearly traded the Charlie Curnow pick for Tomilson

I have never got the Tomlinson obsession. Not really KPP - a position at which we’re stacked. Extremely tall winger... yeh I guess. Would take him, but not target him nor get in a bidding war. Let St Kilda go nuts whilst we hit up our real needs.

Lol? This is no loling matter. SOS should have at least one of Martin, Papley or Wines signed by now. Otherwise the AFL will step in and provide more ambassadorships to support these struggling/relocation expansion clubs.

I hate that attitude, I bet 'we' thought the same about Judd.

Uhhhh, Judd made us relevant again.

We went from second last on the ladder, to 11th, to finals in the following 4 years. We were playing finals before JJK starting showing his ability.

I have no issues with that trade whatsoever.

Cutler being dropped again is interesting. Would definitely at least improve our depth. Would be a good get for GC though.

Sure.

Our problem with Ratts was that he simply tried to do too many things. He was involved with recruitment, fitness, strategy, line coaching, development. Most of the growth in the AFL over the past 20 years has come from specialisation, having experts in specific areas working in those areas and reporting to someone in charge on their progress instead of having someone try to do everything. I'm concerned, because we have a history of rejecting attempts to change the club, to modernise and to do things the right way, and this could very well be a bit of a regression to that.

We've gotten so much right since MLG took over, hired Trigg and SOS and Bolton, moving two of those three on when what was needed from the position changed. I am worried that the promise of incipient success might lull the club into a false sense of security that they might slip back into bad habits. If I had more trust for the club, I would be less concerned, but I still do not think they've quite earned it yet.

Ratts lost the confidence of our experienced players. He also was *not* a good coach on gameday. Thus why Richo took over a lot of that role late in his tenure. After his time at the Hawks he may have tuned those skills and may service StK better now. He was definitely not the one to lead us further. Unfortunately choosing to replace him with Malthouse was a catastrophic failure.

I do not have a high opinion of Trigg. He was only ever 70% invested. Said he would relocate to Melbourne. Never did. Part time CEO? No thanks.

I don't see any of our old bad habits. No individual holds power on the board. No coach or director has sway.

Exciting times ahead.

And you know for a fact he hasn’t do you? Given the trade/draft period hasn’t even started yet? And you’re aware no one can sign anything until the official periods start??? so yeah LOL

So the AFL can throw more money at whichever GWS player deserves it so GWS don’t have to trade them or let them go through free agency

Watching the Eagles destroy Essendon makes me appreciate players that can simply dominate.
Papley or Wines, who cares.
I wish we could get both and would happily pay.
In fact I would completely wipe out 2 years of trading to bring in Wines, Paps and Martin.
Those 3 in our current team would get us to a prelim.
Tack Eddie on and it's #17 or bust in 2020

Ok, so here's my take on the last 20 odd pages..

Ibleednavyblue, who held his nerve in the face of adversity, finally cracked and deleted his account.



We then woke to the news Eddie Betts may come back to the Blues. It took a little while to sink in.. but Oh Lordy, when it did....



After courting him all last season, the Blues interest in Brandon Ellis cooled, leaving many here 'high fiving' with relief.



Ellis management states he's disappointed in being led on. SOS responds..



A classic day followed..Old mate Reg broke the news that we were making a play for AMT.
We be like....



A week after he signed for Essendon..



Reggie reasoning around not having internet/phone access seemed legit, however a few amongst us weren't so 'understanding'..



Thread got a tad creepy when some started telling everyone where the Blues players were holidaying.



We gasped when 'The Trade Whisperer' was quoted. We were all waiting for the 'wrath of Aph', but she contained herself...



This time...
