I think he was held back this year because of media pressure regarding the swap of picks. It will be interesting to see how he develops next year.

I think it was mostly fitness.

Will need a few pre-seasons before he hits his straps.

But really looking forward to when he does.

Where's larrikan Ferris gone?
You're making far too much sense and I am handing out likes like there's no tomorrow LOL

I am like The Joker.

You know.... a failed comedian who has broken down and turned serious.

What could possibly go wrong?

Barassman, Gotham really needs you!

I think he is a far better player in the midfield

He was absolutely insane against the Dogs in the first game playing in the guts

I'd give him one more year down back and then look to move him him full time in 2021 once Murph and/or Ed are done.

I have 2 really good Swannies mates and they are fuming re the thought of losing Paps and, furthermore, don’t see the need for JD up forward.

Makes me more committed to getting him. 🕺🏻

I have a Swan supporter at work who doesn't keep up with the goss as much as we all do.

Came in gloating how the Swans might be picking up Daniher. I said 'hope it happens as gives us the chance to get Papley'.

"You aren't getting Papley !!".

When I explained about his girlfriend, move to Victoria etc his chin hit the floor.

Typical Swans - so used to free handouts from the AFL !!

I think Stocker is a pure midfielder.

He is a solid body, with some good burst pace and clean skills.

Think he's more inside burst than distributor. Kind of like what we expect Dow to become but with better kicking.
Really like what I've seen of him so far.

Think he will excel in midfield once he gets his endurace up. Competitive beast with good skills.

Yep, partly that and part was his fitness not ready for AFL midfield role yet. He is no Sam Walsh.

Stocker should start developing into a very dangerous centre square player, has all the required skills and has already shown a willingness to stand up for himself and team mates.

Backing him in to be the rising star next season if he stays fit.

Stocker winning rising star you're dreaming. Though it would be great to see the look on Adelaide supporters faces

How does he work that out when the AFL don't even have a formula for compo picks?

The AFL does have a formula for FA compo.

It's just like everything at the AFL, they have the ability to override the formula when it suits their agenda. See Melb/Frawley, Geelong/Motlop, Coll/Fasolo and so on....

To paraphrase the greek goddess....more AFL makey-uppy BS....

I think Swans are absolutely bonkers to trade in Daniher. Let Essendon deal with his surgery rehab and return to fitness, and pay him during that period. Have a punt next year when he's a RFA.

But I highly support Swans trading in Daniher if it lands up Papley lol.

I wonder if Stocker could become like a Degoey type for us? seems to have some similiar attributes and the power but unsure of his forwaed craft at this stage

We should erect a bronze statue of Dododo outside of Princes Park.

He paid overs to get Shiel to his club...we missed out of course, kept our 2018 and 2019 1st round picks, and subsequently landed Slammin' Sammy and Stocker, and still have a 1st round pick this year.

Jack Martin was reportedly just about over the line to go to * last year until they turned their attention to Shiel during the trade period, and it all fell over. Thanks for helping get Martin to the Blues.

Trading with Swans after Daniher leaves them, paving the way for Papley to get to Carlton....more than likely with our pick 8, which we only have because * got Shiel, and we kept our draft picks.

So Dododo....we thank you for Walsh...and Stocker....and Martin....and potentially Papley, through your shrewd Shiel trade.

God bless you, sir :)

I know Dodoro and SOS are friends, but wow! That reads like Dodoro is a double agent for Carlton.

He's certainly delivering more talent to us at the moment than *!

Is there a reason we are assuming it’s this years first needed for Papley?

All reports I’ve read suggests this years draft is average, next year is supposedly better & Sydney has academy prospects.

Is the pick and trading of future picks around Sydney preferring next years first over this years & obviously then under the rules that makes Martin an issue as it’s assumed that’s next years second.

If the reports on the draft are accurate, it maybe Sydney is willing to take a risk that pick 8 slides out, as they see 2020 pick 10-11 being better than 2019 pick 8

Our pick 8 is a known quantity - who knows where our pick could be next year*
Syd want our pick this year, so they are not forced to hand over their own pick #4 in Daniher trade.

*Could be pick 25-30 with all the possible academy/F-S/NGA bidding......Pick 18 before bidding ;)

I think they like to have the figure head goal kickers that everyone knows. Works for their market. If they get him over the O.P he'll kick a lot of goals.

I imagine AFL headquarters to run along the office lines of "Utopia" in the ABC, that formula was probably written by the work experience kid and has never been seen since.

If you could use pick for papley ,Martin, butler or Laird ,Martin, butler — what’s your choice — for me I like Laird which possibly not popular .. if I could let any player NOT in our TOP ten under 25 go to get all four I would do in a heartbeat

I’m at the “openly taunting” phase of engagement with Swans mates. They are not appreciating it, and now I really need SOS to get his Trading Warlock on again. Get it done SOS!

I really liked SPS off HBF this year. His creativity was perfectly suited to finding targets and maintaining possession coming out of D50. Will get even better at it with more experience, too.

I agree that his skills are also nice forward of centre. Wouldn't it be nice to have two of him > well actually, we might just in a way.....

Would be happy for SPS to be the defensive playmaker and Martin the attacking playmaker.
#metoo

Loved SPS off half back, I was most worried about his defence in the air when the switch was made but he impressed the hell out of me in that facet of the game.

imo, over the next season or two the biggest area of improvement for him is to broaden the scope of his elite kicking. If he can move his eyes from those 15-30 metre kicks to consistently having the courage to hit 30-50 metre kicks then he’ll be an absolute star - wherever he plays
