Not convinced he has his head in the right space, nor will it ever be

If the club feels he is not a risk to our young group just roll the dice...nothing ventured, nothing gained...massive upside if Russell can get his body right.

Yeah I still feel like our culture could handle him. We're at a pretty strong point right now imo, especially if we are able to bring in Eddie as suggested. 1 year with a conditional second would be ok with me.

I would loooooooove Bennell at the club. He's genuinely a prodigious talent. Comes with massive risk though. Lots of due diligence needed.

No, if Bennel has any chance of making it the Melbourne bubble is a help, not a hindrance. Anonymity and addictive personality is not a great mix
Harsh but fare. Still worth the risk. Time to back our culture and the coaches ability to help his players...

If it was just the mental health issues or just the physical health problems then we could handle it. However, we're not yet in a position where we can afford to waste a list place on a guy with both. The risk is too high for a young team building a culture.
Thankfully has been linked to the Swans. Will make it or break it there and they can afford to take the hit more thanwe can. Sydney's also out of the football bubble so will be enabled to giveit his all without the constant speculation and media attention.
If we get Eddie he'll have the likes of SPS and small forwards to work with. We don't need him to be a glorified babysitter which he would be with Harley

If Bennell is in a good headspace and Russell thinks he can get his calves right we’d be stupid to not have a go.
A fit and playing Bennell would instantly be in our top 5 players.
