As much as people like to hate him, Sam McClure immediately springs to mind. Although he can jump the gun sometimes with his "breaking news", he seems genuinely passionate about his job.

Sam McClure clearly loves his footy.

Probably not as much as he loves Sam McClure, though.....

The Brody Grundy quotes from yesterday, really sound like a guy who wants to move home to start a family and be closer to his and his partners.

We should be getting in contact with ROB management and showing him the love, trust Adelaide to put years of development into a kid only to go after a player that makes him obsolete, as soon as he hits his straps.

ROB would be aware, if Grundy comes, his spot is gone, he might not want to just bide his time and have the prospect hanging over his head.

Offer him the number 1 spot

SOS is SOS. He's not the easiest going individual.
Some will say he's arrogant and dismissive of others, but that's just the way he is.

The hardest job in any football team organisation is managing the 'cycle of life' that every employee has as well as their expectations within the context of the organisation as a whole.

I have looked at the character of his sons for lateral insight into the man's personality and abilities. Decent children are never an accident or a fluke.

Sounds like the perfect list manager then. I don't want a list manager that is easy going and is too afraid to make the tough decisions.

Rogers: We want Tomlinson
SOS: No
Rogers: How about Smith?
SOS: No. We'll give you Jaksch.
Rogers: Who
SOS: Jaksch. First rounder.
Rogers: Let's dis....
SOS: First rounder.
Rogers: We want to take that to the draf...
SOS: First rounder.
Rogers: But.
SOS: We'll throw in Whiley.
Rogers: 2 for 1! Nice doing business with you SOS.

Then in a Alpha dog move SOS comes over to be Rogers boss a month later lol.

TDK Will be AFL ready around the age of 21 or 22 give or take a bit. 23 at the latest. In saying that he may well play a few games filling in here and there as a forward who rucks in 2020.

He's athletic with good football skills and abilities which puts him ahead. His body is not underdeveloped for his age.
I'm in the same boat as yourself Bat in his body is great for his age and expect another preseason will have him a little bigger stronger and fitter hopefully helping him to contest as a ruckman a whole lot more for the NB's.
His all round maturity and physicality is still a few years of in being anywhere near taking the mantle over full time but provided he has an uninterrupted run at it can see him getting some games in at times throughout the year, more than likely as a second ruck/forward if certain players are unavailable...

Absolute gold, mate.
Thanks for the likes guys. Met Alex Marcou many times when he had his clothing factory in Thomastown. Had the pleasure of meeting one of my very favourite non Pies players in Alex Jesaulenko there. Also Kenny Sheldon . Alex Marcou had great stories and Jezza's handshake, boy no wonder he could grip a footy.

Like reading your rumour file, it is one of the best on BF. Keep it up lads

Simmered.

Simmo'd
/ˈsɪm-əʊd/
verb
past tense

to have one's ankles broken by Kade Simpson feigning to his non-preferred right side before kicking the ball with his trusty left
"Forward lines have been Simmo'd for years, repeatedly deceived by him moving to his right before inevitably swinging round to his left and gaining an extra 10 metres"

First time that I can remember that I'm not too concerned by the trade period. I think that the natural growth of our young players + a fit Docherty is reason enough to be excited by 2020.
Half of me feels this way, the other negative half of me looks at this season and sees only Weitering stepping his game up to the next level and would really love to bring in a couple of best 22 players to really guarantee improvement. So many positives at the end of this season and it would be exciting and confidence building to bring in some good players who cover some of our weaknesses.

You don't think Papley, Martin, Betts and Docherty won't walk into the 2020 best 22?
