Harry CHF, Charlie out of the square.
Backlines s**tting themselves.

That forward line will create issues as there isn't a meat and potato player to be seen in that (potential) forward line.
Good in the air...good on a lead...good at ground level...goals created from nothing...
Sure it's all about potential for now, but it's almost tangible. You can see it.

Not only are they young, they have/had been playing in the guts against mature midfielders.
Getting smashed (physically) week in, week out does not develop you.

Most teams who play kids, have an experienced spine/midfield who rotate kids through the areas.

It is no wonder the likes of Dow & Fisher have plateaued, the balance has been wrong.
Note how Walsh thrived when mature bodies ran with him in the second half of the year.

We know that we're now positioning ourselves where the draft isn't the be-all and end-all for the club.
We knew that at soon as we flipped firsts with Adelaide in order to attain Stocker, last year.

On face value now, the CFC came out miles in front having made that trade, as Adelaides pick #4 isn't going to garner anything like they thought it may, only 11 months ago. Nothing wrong with what Adelaide did, but may be possible and almost probable, that Stocker alone may have been seen to be better than for what we would have taken should have we kept this pick. To have then added Papley for what can be viewed as next to nothing, is a real fillip for the club.
I have wondered before if when the recruitment team rated him a top 6 pick if they meant that they think he is worth a top 6 pick if he was in the 2019 draft. Considering the pick they gave up was the 2019 pick.

WCE May be dumb enough to think next years Pick will be 3 (unlikely), but they then have to fool Geelong (unlikely)

So lots of effort there but can’t see it happening
It's not about them being dumb enough to think that next years pick will be #3 the objective is about both sides "us and WCE" helping each other out in landing our targets in a fair way for each other, knowing the points system will mean little for next year because of the unknown in where everyone actually finnishes it's just a guide to show how things balances out for the trade itself for the now.
I'd say all clubs would be well aware that next years positions could/would be different than the projected finishes from this year, to Geelong it means they get two first rounders in for him i would have thought that a win for them as well.

What would take to get Gaff or Wines
say next yrs first to Syd for papley
A second round pick for Martin
Would pick 9 And Fisher get Gaff

Our depth players are being courted by other clubs?

Never thought I'd see the day.
It's part of the AFL's ruck rotation strategy.

Each ruck needs to play for 2 clubs minimum.

Sad about Kreuze

Adelaide have an ageing list and missed their window.

Not much point them keeping Betts on big money when they need to be playing youth. Especially when he is not happy there.

Would be a massive waste of $600K for Eddie to remain at Adelaide next year.

Every chance they jump at the opportunity to get x% of his salary off their books.

Spot on ferrisb

Ironically (given the sh*t we’ve copped from Crow posters over last 4 years) Carlton are 4 years ahead of Crows in terms of a List Rebuild.

We have KPP’s, young mids and 1 x young ruck in place.

Small forwards, 1 x gun mid, back up ruck on shopping list.

They are in a whole world of pain and are only now starting to get their heads around the measures required to fix the horrible mess they’re in.
