Absolutely no way Geelong do that for 9 alone, 9 and future second maybe.![]()
Surprise Saint in trade conversation, can Blues land trio?
The latest trade updates, including a deal they can't get their head around and Tim Kellywww.afl.com.au
This does make some sense, trade 9 to Geelong for 14 and 17
14 for Papley
17 for Martin
No, no, noRehab maybe?????
Prestia, pickett, caddy, edwards
Lambert, Castagna, Bolton also run through the middle
Lets wait and see how many decent picks we have left after the trade period.
So far we've got Thomas, Fasolo, Lobbe, Garlett, Schumacher & Kerr off the senior list and LeBois off the rookie list. That's 6 senior spots and 1 rookie.
So far we're expecting Papley, Martin & Betts. I'd say there's a chance we end up with our 3rd pick being in the 4th/5th round, in which case it might be preferable to upgrade Gibbons to the senior list and only draft the 2 kids.
Chance Flip heads to *, probably fair to say if that happens we'll try to bring in Pittonet as his replacement.
Unless we get future picks involved and somehow end up with a few good picks left, or SOS does some more draft night pick trading, I don't see us drafting 5 or so players like we have in recent times. I'm thinking maybe 2, no more than 3.
I really wanted Carlton to have a big crack at Hill but 2x first rounders PLUS 900k cap space is too much. Pick six is fair, a second rounder on top of that is overs. That's a lot, obviously.
But Saints have offered a contracted player $900kpa, so I can understand it as a starting point.
They're not going to get it though.
we have entered a hyperinflationary market, don't be surprised to see list managers at AFL house with wheelbarrow loads full of draft picks, only to find them worthless the next day.

Lol, St.Kilda need their 2020 First pick for the other King twin.
Freo are smoking some nice kush.
Central bank of the AFL will soon start issuing one million-pick notes but it’ll be so out of control by then you’d be lucky if one of them got you a crack in the 4th round
What St Kilda are prepared to pay the player shouldn't make any difference to Freo. Poaching and perceived draft strength is valid however. Not sure if #6 by itself in this draft is fair, when you're poaching a contracted player and giving him 900.
And sounds like future picks for 2020 are somewhat devalued.
Same.Im not working this week and no trades as of yet. What a waste!
New job starts Monday so wont be able to follow the live happenings when the action inevitably starts to happen.
Lift SOS!

Watch us come late for Hill if the Saints can't get it done

They can ask though. And they should.

I'd start listening to SEN again if Harf and Richo came back on airI actually don't mind them. Bob makes me laugh. Andy can piss me off with his sycophantic behaviour at times though.
Wish SEN would get Daniel Harford and Jason Richardson back together. Those 2 in the same room left me in tears at times.
