We started 28 years later as an amateur club, as a result we were belted from pillar to post and didn't get our act together until a small legend of the game in John Kennedy took control and implemented the Hawthorn Way.
8 flags in 20 years wasn't a bad return.
Hawthorn were a blimp on the VFL ladder untill the 60's.If it wasn't for JK and Jeans later on,HFC would have been in massive trouble by the late 80's.
Peter Hudson was a gift from the footy gods for u guys. You're lucky to have had him.
Actually,if I was a Hawthorn supporter,I would get down on my knees and thank the lord every day that HFC survived past 1950. Think of what happen to Leeds in the English Premier league a few years back..........thats what could have happen to Hawthorn.
Question..if they did get kicked out of the AFL,what local league would they join? Diamond Valley league?
