SIX DEGREES OF MOBBS - THE THEORY OF MOBBS LAW

The Sweet FA community is one big interconnected, complex web of clubs, players, administrators and personalities. At the centre of this universe of course is the league's creator, Mobbs.

Six degrees of separation is the idea that all people are six, or fewer, social connections away from each other. But with Six Degrees of Mobbs we take that one step further. In the long and storied history of this community, it's fair to say that all roads lead to Mobbs.

But with a competition spanning nearly 20 years, we have seen in excess of 2000 players come and go from the game, can we possibly trace every last one of them back to him? Let's put the theory to the test using a series of connections and relationships known as the 'Mobbs Law' or 'Six Degress of Mobbs'

In what would be a little known fact, every single current player in the competition can be linked back to Mobbs with just a maximum of three 'links' or degrees.

Even BRAB's 42 degrees are no match for 'Mobbs Law' as evidenced below.

Well we can stretch the theory out even further. Each and every single player* that has ever pulled on a guernsey to take the field in the Sweet FA can be traced back to Mobbs within six degrees.

From the Hurricanes to the Blues Brothers, the Junkyard Dogs to The Mod Squad, all of them can be linked directly back.

So on a day where we celebrate the great man notching his half ton, the gauntlet's been thrown down, the challenge is set, bring your most obscure players you can possibly find and let's get to testing 'The Mobbs Law'.

* Does not include the AFL All-Stars bot team from Seasons 7 & 9.

Let's take Bears captain Test Tickle for example.

Testy joined the Sweet FA in S26 and shared a locker room with xenxen. xenxen ran out to battle with Mobbs and the Roys in Seasons 24 & 25, making it two degrees of separation for the popular Bears skipper and league's leading interviewer of the stars (and also rans).

BEEG

I have no connection with Beeg.
Interesting pick Mobbsy. I take it you are trying to find the most handsome, goal kicking machine you don't have a link to?

In fact you have a very short link between the two of you. There are others, but as below, BEEG can be linked back to you in two degrees of separation.

CALL ME SNAKE pulled on the Roys guernsey with you in S23 & S24, before being united with BEEG at Baghdad in S25 and the two played together for several seasons at the Bombers before BEEG joined the Warriors in S28.

We can take a look at Warriors firebrand and fellow member of the Sweet FA modding fraternity, NaturalDisaster next.

Before spending time at the Hawks and landing at the Warriors in the mid season trade period, ND captained the Furies in S26. There he played with Roys' ruck JackNah_8, who joined the club in S27.

If this is how I find out Mobbs is my dad, I'm gunna fu** shit up

Also mum wants to talk to him about $385,738 in unpaid child support

And mum thinks she gave him herpes
herpes pales into insignifance when compared to a case of mobbs

Oh I get it now. Try Grendel
Good one. Tough one. Founder of Grendel FC AKA Team Timmy, the now defunct team that lasted all of one season back in the inaugural season of the Sweet FA competition. Just 12 games to be exact.

Surprisingly, it's just two degrees of separation.

Grendel and long term Roys player and league legend Fred were teammates for that solitary season, with Fred spending time at both The Mod Squad and the Roys with yourself.

larrikin played with Mobbs at the Mod Squad, yes? So every Hawk since S11 is a two degree separation at most.
No Hawk would have more than three degrees. Wally, who played from S06 through to current Hawk larrikin who debuted in S11 has every Hawk who ever played covered for 3 degrees at most.

Okay, how about SFA legend Glenno23?
Koala's hardman Glenno23 suited up for a torrid two game blitz way back in Season 6 for the Koalas for their single season in the competition. He has links to Mobbs via both the inaugural Koalas skipper rota69 (who has recently returned to the league via the Dragons) and Warriors founder and Sweet FA hall of famer Frankston Rover.

Via FR is the fastest path to Mobbs, with fellow hall of famer pantsredacted joining FR at the Warriors in S26, having first suited up with Mobbs back in Season 15 at the Roys. So three degrees of separation for Glenno23.

ew I don't like to be associated with ND

Surely I avoid the Mobbs connection?
Not this time JT.

Your current skipper Dingster linked arms with the man himself all the way back in Seasons 9 & 10 at The Mod Squad, making it just a measly two degrees of separation I'm afraid.
