Xavier just said on triple m if we potentially lose multiple senior players ( our whole backline) we’ll ask to afl to reschedule matches

I don't see why the AFL would play ball if it turns out we disregarded the AFL's advice to not have the training groups be, more or less, along the lines of the team.

now of course, those reports about the backline training together could be misleading. they could have been doing only running together which probably isn't as concerning as if they were doing marking/tackling drills together.

What a pickle. He’s disregarded a clear set of guidelines and nuked our season. BE3DE3E4-961E-40DE-901D-E60E4E04BDAD.jpeg This is precisely the reason BZT’s breach was more serious than it was given credit for and it ONCE AGAIN highlights our lack of standards and accountability as an organisation. Now we all pay the price

Some very interesting discussions will be had considering:

This season will have no integrity if teams are selected from a list of 26. It won't just be us, though we're the first to be affected by it.

Definitely going to have an asterisk next to whoever takes the premiership.

Not sure how the club can monitor or control the players' movements in the community, short of isolating them in a communal set up at Tulla.
I'd accept that it shows Conor's lack of standards.
The club put its hand up when it became aware. That is accountability by definition.
I would avoid turning it into something it's not. This is on McKenna.

It will grind through because it has to. We could see a Steven Bradbury style premiership.

disappointing if its true he disregarded club advice.

great to be making strides in unfooty related news again.

This season will have no integrity and be encumbered by a big fat asterisk....unless we win it then you can shove your infantile opinions, 17 baby!
I reckon I could wear it.

But I thought the AFL lessened some of the restrictions this week. Including allowing players to visit their families. Why wouldn’t Conor be allowed to visit his foster family then?

And given his lease is up at his current place, why couldn’t he attend the open house?

Think the state/federal restrictions, and the restrictions the afl players agreed to are different (afl being stricter).
I agree with the foster parents one - from my understanding, I would’ve thought that would be allowed. Assuming the open house is the bigger issue...

This was posted about the AFL restrictions changing -

AFL players have been given the all-clear to surf, play golf and tennis and to go fishing, after the game's controlling body eased restrictions relating to COVID-19.

Following a countrywide relaxation by state governments of social regulations, the AFL informed its clubs on Monday of the changes.

Players and club staff have also been given conditional permission to visit the homes of immediate family and fellow teammates.

The AFL also increased from eight to nine the number of players allowed to gather in groups at training.

We have an investment property in Melbourne which was vacated in April due to covid-19 (students lost their casual jobs and moved home). It's now been let (at a lower rent) but we were told that there were strict processes in place for viewings - no open house, each group had to have separate appointments, social distancing, no viewings until the property was vacated. Is open house now allowed?
