Maynard, 3 goals kicked on him and a costly turnover right into the hands of GWS

4 massive stuff ups, if he only had 3 we would have won.

deplorable
Should have been four but Greene handed it off to Cameron for a behind.

Our midfield was completely missing and we only fired a shot when Davis and then Williams went off. Until then we were totally outpointed. Still should have won but managed to throw it away.

Our Midfield look Overrated after Tonight.

Except for Adam's the Rest should hang there Heads in Shame of how Crap they where

Our first loss by 2pts to a top 4 team at their home ground and everyone losing their minds. Absolutely ridiculous. Hopefully Howe ain’t an ACL, irreplaceable
They were unfit, and were two v good players down for the 2nd half, and we couldn’t capitalize in the last. It’s like playing the Lions of 2002/03 again... we haven’t got the Mental ability or skill to beat them, even when they’re disadvantaged.

Maynard playing on the Giants best player and yeah didn’t get the chocolates in the end but he was far from our worse. Yeah he fluffed that kick but also was our drive from HB for the night. That poxy goal Greene kicked over his shoulder was pure arse.

Cost us the Game

How the f ing hell does an AFL team not know how to kick a ball straight 30 meters? I’m sorry but DeGoey is really p*%#ing me off. Can’t kick, thinks he’s gods gift to football but plays like a f ing millionaire who doesn’t give a rats. C Brown can’t kick to save himself, Stevo can’t do anything after 1/4 time WHE played a shocker again, he played ok last week but back to form now.
Old style training, no one goes off the ground until everyone kicks three goals in a row, I don’t care if it takes all night.
I don’t know if anyone noticed, but when Briwn took that mark,he was looking around desperately for someone to kick it to,He was only about thirty metres out and he had no confidence in his own ability to kick the goal. That says aa lot about the mind set of a lot of our players.

It's so frustrating to watch this team. Callum Brown, not making the distance from 30 metres out. Maynard, kicking the ground and turning it over when we had all of the momentum.
Tyler Brown allowing Kelly to get goal side of him when that was the only dangerous space around the ball.
DeGoey going absolutely Awol while Pendles and Grundy do all the heavy lifting in the last.
Cameron nailing a shot from the boundary while Mayne misses from 25 metres out.

What a joke. Our guys don't step up in the crunch time.

I mentioned last week, JDG needs to do alot more. Tonight, he gave us doughnuts. Either pull the finger out JDG, or get some form in a scratch match.
He ain't worth a big dollar contract right now, and the Pies shouldn't even consider a big contract, until he starts producing.
The most disappointing player, performance wise in the side at the moment, considering his talent.

Just a sick feeling in the guts that we are never going to win a flag under Bucks with this team. I'm am trying hard not to be overly reactive to one narrow defeat but the injury to Howe and the failure to get over the line when it matters just make me feel we are never going to win when it counts. The GF in 2018, the preliminary final last year. Countless opportunities to win those games blown.

The same again tonight.

Too many players who cannot kick a goal under pressure. DeGoey is so overrated and simply not a match winner. He is another one you would not back in to kick a set shot from 30 metres out directly in front, yet he gets paid huge money for nothing more than potential. How many times has Stevenson shot out of the blocks in the first quarter of a game only to be unsighted for the next three quarters? Off the top of my head- the GF, the second semi against Geelong last year, The game against Power at Etihad a couple of years back when he looked set to kick a bag, last week against the Saints and again tonight. There are many more examples. Elliott has been disappointing. Too often he was not at the fall of the ball and his defensive pressure was poor for most of the game. Hoskin Elliott was behind his opponent every time the pill went forward in the last term. Shanked kicks often fell short and it was Haynes who took front position every time. Why? Scared? Lazy?

Mihocek has a 50/50 rate at best from simple set shots and has gone backwards in this regard. Cox was horrendous tonight and I am his biggest fan-forever defending him after bad performances, but he looked insipid at times tonight.

Sidey is a non contributor if heavily tagged. Wills should not be out there with our team if we hope to be contending.

I really wish the season hadn't gone ahead on nights like this. The anxiety, the nightmares coming true (Howe) it was always just a matter of time but just you watch a parade of guns from other clubs skating through another season unscathed. It is beyond maddening. The frustration and sheer depression at the thought of another long campaign which ultimately dishes up even more pain and frustration.

Overreaction? I don't think so. We will contend. We will be competitive. We will not win the flag.

JDG needs a Kick Up the Ass.

Run in the 2nds might be needed

I'd have to say, plenty of brain fades led to goals. Poor set shot misses and not making the distance. Remove the brain fades such as Roughy giving a free kick and cleaner ball use out back and kick straight when taking a set shot and I'd say you'll easily finish top 4 or even top 2.

Before the resumption, the question was asked on this forum - what do you hope the players have worked on

Feels prescient right now given I answered as follows

1/ Grundy's hit outs and connection to the mids. Far fewer taps to his feet. Signs were good in Rd 1
2/ Cox to keep his eyes on the ball when attempting his marks and not dropping his head at the time of impact. More marks would stick
3/ Set shot kicking practice, while fatigued, for our forwards. They don't practice much while fatigued at training.
