To be honest, I think perhaps Jetta hasn't done the work, and he may need a few weeks to get himself in to shape.

He hasn't been the trimmest looking I've seen him.

Jetta dropped is one for all you “Simmo doesn’t drop senior players”. Dropped on NAIDOC week with the indigenous jumper being worn too, which is another reason I’ve seen bandied around as to why certain players get a game. That’s what those in the business call ‘taking an L’.

Interestingly I was just listening to the Coast to Coast podcast today which kicked off with Schoey waxing lyrical about Jetta and his value to the club onfield and off-field with his mentoring of the younger indigenous blokes.

Hopefully dropping him doesn’t have an adverse effect on the other guys.

Jetta’s been a first choice scapegoat since he came to the club. He has always had a much shorter rope than others for some reason.

Absolutely stoked for Miguel Sanchez that Simpson proved him right, but we all know who we’re referring to when we say the “senior players” need a rocket, and I doubt many would have pointed at Jetta.

I can understand the shock about Jetta getting the chop but let's examine things. The guy is in the side for the damage he can cause off half back in transition, not his elite 1-1 defensive prowess. Jetta is an attacking option.

Where have we continually sucked balls at the hub? Attacking out of defence. Either Jetta has been well held or not working hard enough to be involved where we need him involved.

Hopefully it's a good reset and Jetts will be back in form soon.

I don’t know who you’re referring to when you say “senior players” need a rocket. I wanted Redden and Cripps dropped for example, but if that’s who it is say that’s who it is.

You cannot pretend Lewis Jetta, 200 gamer, best clubman, this week called the most influential player at the club on the Eagles website, doesn’t count as a senior player. When was the last time a healthy Lewis Jetta missed a game? This isn’t 2016 anymore.

Most people on here think Redden and Cripps should be dropped. Just because they weren’t doesn’t mean Simpson doesn’t drop senior players, given he’s just dropped Lewis ****ing Jetta.

If you want to come out and say “I won’t be happy until Redden, Cripps and Darling are dropped” then say it. Hiding that sentiment behind “Simmo doesn’t drop senior players” then qualifying why each example doesn’t count is ridiculous.

200 gamer Lewis Jetta dropped to be replaced by replacement level cannon fodder Jackson Nelson, (against his former team, on NAIDOC week if you’re into the sentimental side of it all) counts as Adam Simpson dropping a senior player. It just does.

I agree. Love Jetts and he wouldn’t have been the first omission I reached for but he’s hardly set the world on fire. Happy to see Nelson come in and hopefully bring some mongrel

Try Kelly on a HFF and move Redden into the midfield? Play O’Neill and replace Cripps with Jones in the starting 18? Why do we have two players capable of playing third tall forward yet they’re both on the bench? Shit even Petch did just as well as Cripps.
