Have the blokes at the mighty swans named an award in honour of Butch Jardine?? Great man that spent most of his time involved with the club be it with football or cricket. True champion.

The Clubperson of the year (entire club) is now named after him which seems to be very fitting.

Good stuff thanks D.A. Who was last years winner?? Hows the ground looking at the moment?? i know its bad every where but are you getting any water on it all?? eg bore water or river water.

Strop & Debbie Weir won it in a tied performance.

The ground is looking okay. It basically has got this way every year so I'm not too concerned. Not sure what they are using to water it.

Agree that it would be good to see Natte or Lexton knock off the Carnham's and Skipton's for a change.

I'd rather not as it isn't fair to them or their club. Wait 'til the clearances open.

However, Nathan Wright has been training with us but only for a change of scenery. He will be staying at Carisbrook for their tilt on 2007.

Pity.
 
Surely it cant be all doom and gloom for the eagles, can you advise if they have any talent or youngsters coming up through the ranks.

2 years ago i lived in Skipton for 10 years and i played juniors for a few and i went to every Skipton match!!! Didn't think that there would be a thread on it on BF. Quiet town 400 odd people and there was 100kids at my school.
 
I remember a home game we played once against a team starting with 'L' can't remember the name but thay left the league. The final score Skipton:60goals roughly 24behinds Them 0.1

It was a thrashing

Landsborough. Won 3 Lexton FL flags on the trot in the late 1980s.
 
I heard over the weekend that the following people have left Carnham for 2007.

1. Head
2. Pring
3. Raynor
4. Porter

Apparently all have signed with other clubs.

Also heard that the following may be leaving Skipton

1. Darren Fletcher to East Point
2. Molloy to Redan.

Anyone know of any more from these 2 clubs?

How are Rokewood travelling regarding recruits?

Nick Goiun from Skipton has gone overseas and will not be returning to play this season.

My mail suggests Pring will stay on but other 3 leaving,
Fletch to EP correct
Dean Oliver rumoured to be leaving rokewood & carl begbie has been shopping himself around but leigh russell 2 return from bolac

Ararat Eagles impending season has just gone from bad to worse! Very ordinary by whoever is responsible for that!
