Haha. Well Heeney has probably underwhelmed a bit but the 18th best player in the draft? Behind luminaries like Newman and Langford? C'mon. In b4 someone from Sydney criticises this post...
Hahaha nah I'm completely on your side with this one, was more making a joke regarding how some supporters are very reactionary when someone doesn't rate their player. Maybe he has underperformed based on the talent he showed in the early days, but I'd still rate him in the top 10 of this draft quite easily, probably knocking on the door of the 5.Haha. Well Heeney has probably underwhelmed a bit but the 18th best player in the draft? Behind luminaries like Newman and Langford? C'mon.
Anyway, my Top 20:
1. Harris Andrews
2. Christian Petracca
3. Darcy Moore
4. Jack Steele
5. Isaac Heeney
6. Jordan De Goey
7. Touk Miller
8. Caleb Daniel
9. Lachie Weller
10. Adam Saad
11. Brayden Maynard
12. Kane Lambert
13. Jeremy Finlayson
14. Jake Lever
15. Dan Butler
16. Reilly O'Brien
17. Dougal Howard
18. Jayden Short
19. Ed Langdon
20. Connor McKenna
Found it pretty hard to order. It seems to be a draft with a lot of handy role-players but few genuine stars. Which is kind of how it was predicted coincidentially!
Brayshaw, Duggan, Newman, Langford and Castagna probably the five unluckiest to not make the list.
Admittedly I wrote that when Brayshaw was slumping, he'd be back in the Top 20 now I think. It'll sound biased but reckon Ed Langdon and Brayshaw have McKenna, ROB and Short covered.

I think my main logic for McKenna/Short > Langdon was down to their kicking - they're both rather good ones, whereas Langdon's kicking is a bit of a liability for someone who largely plays on the outside. His game this week looked better though. As for ROB, I admit I haven't really closely watched him that well this season - supposedly he's been pretty meh so I think he'd slide now - but he did look pretty gun last year.
No commentaussierulesrules your thoughts on the saints picks.....
Pick 1: Patrick McCartin
Pick 21: Hugh Goddard
Pick 22: Daniel McKenzie
Pick 41: Jack Lonie
Jack Sinclair on the rookie list.
McCartin was injured. Goddard didint make it but the other 3 are still on the list.
well McKenzie, Lonie and Sinclair are still on the list, I assume they are fringe/depth players then?No comment
North bid on him at 30. Brisbane got to match with 61. Even at 30 he would have been a great bargain.Harris a bit of a bargain at pick 61
The only saving grace is that we traded for Steele essentially for free so at least offsets missing out on Petracca. No comment

I don't think people thought he would flop, just that it was a high price for a younger player.I quite like that Weller is putting together a solid (if unspectacular) career. Lots of people were tipping him to be a high priced flop at GC, but he's turning up each week and doing a pretty good job.
Hilariously bad list

I rate Heeney and De Goey a lot lower than most would have them. De Goey is too unpredictable off-field, so I wouldn't draft him so high due to the attached risk, and Heeney is too inconsistent. I'll take 5 good matches out of every 5, over 1 elite match, 1 good one and 3 mediocre.
