I don't think it's a big name player as we simply don't have the cap space. It wouldn't surprise me at all if it was someone like Paddy Dow or Jye Caldwell.

If not him I would love a Sam Taylor who could be a Grimes clone in the long term.
that's my thoughts too, suggesting we could fit another 750k plus onto our list is just a waste of MB , stop posting that tripe. we are in contention mode with a bloody good list, not bottom 4 with a massive vacuum in our TPP , there's a slight difference

Hmm this is interesting. Three way deal means Adelaide probably gives a club one of their experienced guys, that club gives us the mystery player, we give Adelaide Graham (and maybe CCJ) and balance the whole thing out with draft picks.

It's funny, normally this time of year, info is rock solid but the AFL being dicks have delayed everything without confirming list and cap sizes going forward, its a shambles

Just on this. You seriously believe a club not in the window but with huge cap space who is paying a player 600k plus and trades him for quality but cheaper talent in return wont as part of the trade cover some of the players salary to make it happen ?

Brother I'll answer this the best I can.

Below is what I have pieced together and what I see as the picture developing. Now keep in mind im hamstrug abit due to covid, as now i cant catch up with my mates as often as ill like.

1. We are waiting on the AFL to confirm cap size, list sizes etc, a lot of what we want to do hinges on that.

2 Based on point 1, if we knew that info now we would know who we need to let go and trade from our rookies and developing players like CCJ who have huge value to some clubs at the moment.

3. Follows on from point 2. A lot of clubs what our culture, regardless of how the media portrays the unsociable tigers and the Bigfooty main board flogs rate our list. Balme and Blair are wizards, did they make the Ellis and Butler trades so easy knowing it would have this effect ? Those two have in a way rocketed the value of our "culture" to other clubs.

4. The feeling is we cant keep everyone we want, if the AFL does what we think they will do. Graham is the perfect example of that, we want to keep him, he would love to stay BUT he is getting offers, like CCJ. If we are forced to shed rookies and role players, we have the ability to shed those that are at maximum value at the moment. Crows are seriously desperate of culture change, they have seen how Stengle was developed at his short time at the club and want more. Graham could be for them a future captain, that will be his value. If you were the crows and you believed Graham was the perfect type to help change your clubs culture and drive it what would you offer ? That is why its so exciting at the moment if you try and its bloody hard to ignore the emotional attachment I and you have to these players.

5 Aarts needs to be pushed to the senior list, that will mean a player like Egg will unfortunately be traded IF we think lists will be reduced as we think they will. Other clubs know this, that is why I believe three club trades will happen and established good quality players who wont be part of a premiership for there clubs will be moved on and find new homes with those in the window. Those in the window will shed some developing depth to make that happen while also trying to maintain like we do, a developing quality second tier to protect us from plunging down the ladder.

We can improve our draft order this year or next years draft. We can pry out 1 or 2 quality players that would straight away keep our window open for the next 3-5 years and allow players like Cotchin, Prestia and Edwards not to do all the heavy lifting but also extend there careers while players like Shai/Lynch who are young would know they will have quality around them for another 5-7 years.

I give my word, once I have been given the OK to share more I will, that will just have to be enough at this stage.
Cheers mate, yeah definitely hard to work out when the AFL take so long to make a decision. My opinion is they should leave list sizes alone, it's almost like sneaking in more equalization measures they see teams hold on by uncovering depth players strip that away and teams who get bulk injuries in a year will be out for the count.

From what your saying its sounds like there is a lot of jostling with nothing 100% until the AFL says anything but with what's been mentioned Graham looks like he's first to potentially be trade bait. While it's hard to see anyone go as you said need to what's right for the team. Graham I think has pretty much hit his ceiling has some great games every now and then like the 17 GF, the WB and Carlton games but buy and large I think that's as good as it's going to get and we have a player to replace him that is probably better in Ross, just need to as you say give him some KFC, poor decision in the offseason to get him to lose weight, lost some of his contested ball winning ability.

Hopefully they can keep CCJ, but just have to trust the club that they'll do the right thing as they have done for the last 4-5 years.

Also just as an add on, really appreciate the news you share.

Neil Balme pretty relaxed on SEN,

Pretty much saying someone's gotta go, and if its Graham, so be it, we want whats best for the individual. However, as for trades as such, he just said that will be worked out later. Spoke really well. No wonder even when the players leave, they love us

I had to read that three times , wage subsidy in return for a high draft pick , yes that can happen I suppose. I still see us go after younger talent like Caldwell with CCJ being the lure

Legend, thanks mate for the info! A true asset to all us richmond fans! Loving your work in the tigercast too! 🐯

How dumb are we getting rid of Butler. Should have shown the chicken manure door to Rioli and Castagna. Just sayin.
People have short memories.
