Graham is a good solid role player. He is never going to be anything greater than maybe a 20+ inside mid. I love what he did in 2017 and prefer we keep him as depth, but won't be worried if he goes for a decent deal.

CCJ sounds to be a very good ruck prospect, but we are treating him on here like he is the second coming of Dean Cox. Ruckman in general are pretty overrated in my opinion. We just won two flags with an offcut in Nank and a rookie who took the game up a few years ago in Soldo. Compare that to Max Gawn/Brodie Grundy on big bucks. Yes they are really good on there day, but you are paying through the nose for them and they still have their teams a long way off. CCJ isn't going to be a Gawn or Grundy.

Would happily trade CCJ if we got overs for him. We have rucks we know we can win flags with at the moment. If we do a mini rebuild in a few years and we need another ruckman again, we can draft/trade for another one at the time. I'd move forward with Nank/Soldo and trade CCJ....IF THE DEAL IS A GOOD ONE AND WE GET OVERS. In reverse I would be p1ssed if we traded him for an average deal to keep Soldo and Nank goes away anyway.

So in summary trade Nank and keep CCJ, but start playing him ASAP.

Trade CCJ and keep Nank.

Soldo a solid backup to both.
Took the words right out of my mouth , I think CCJ would be the vehicle to importing a youthful mid that would add to our list but if we lost nank too , that’d be a setback and I’d be pissed too
Oh and I’d be positively delighted to see jack be a 20+ mid, he’s only ever done it once . I love the kid and like macca and George plus broad he’s a genuine role player that does everything dimma asks of him. Rare that anyone scores higher on the pressure index . I’m gonna stick my neck out and say that he re signs with us

There isn't many options that fit the description and the clue of opposition club being hard to deal with doesn't make it any easier. Outside of Essendon who are impossible to deal with and don't have any player worth top 10 picks, the rest of the clubs have shown to be hard to deal with in some cases and easy in others. Someone like Heeney from the swans could potentially fit the description but would seem very unlikely he would looking to leave his home state and while Sydney may have been hard to work with Papley/Carlton they have been good to work with on others deals (Nank, Jones/Saints). Personally I think it is Macrae from the dogs. I've been told of a bad drug culture at the club and Macrae strikers me as clean skin who wouldn't want any part of that. He would likely be worth two top 10 picks and fits the description of quietly building a nice CV that Tiger71 mentioned.
He’d never leave and would cost too much ,easily 700 plus

Would you go after paddy Dow from Carlton can’t get a game at the blouses maybe to a successful team and us having his brother maybe he might become a good player everyone’s thoughts ?
I would take him if he didn’t cost much. Kid was a freak in under 18s. You don’t just lose that ability. I think he will come good but needs to get out of the club he’s in. They’re notoriously bad at developing players.

You don't know that and we can easily afford to pay someone 700k plus. That is Rance money, we can easily offer pay rises to the likes of Balta, Bolton and others with the savings we will make when Edwards, Houli, Cotchin, Prestia and Jack sign on for a lot less when they re-new their deals. We will lose one or two players like when we lost Conca and Ellis when getting Lynch across but the players who leave won't be big loses.

5 Aarts needs to be pushed to the senior list, that will mean a player like Egg will unfortunately be traded IF we think lists will be reduced as we think they will. Other clubs know this, that is why I believe three club trades will happen and established good quality players who wont be part of a premiership for there clubs will be moved on and find new homes with those in the window. Those in the window will shed some developing depth to make that happen while also trying to maintain like we do, a developing quality second tier to protect us from plunging down the ladder.
Aarts is only a second year rookie, so no need to elevate him until the end of 2021 (along with Chol, Stack and Pickett)
Baker and Egg need to elevated this year it is their third year as rookies. Baker is a lock to be elevated.

Is Sheed Victorian?? I thought he was a Perth boy
Might of just been gaf than from vic

wouldn’t be a bad pick up
Runs forever and can play wing and inside mid
Suits our needs

Just on this. You seriously believe a club not in the window but with huge cap space who is paying a player 600k plus and trades him for quality but cheaper talent in return wont as part of the trade cover some of the players salary to make it happen ?

OK, so that suggests it isn't top 4 team, or one coming up hard. Could be a merry go round of players, picks and $. If it's the right guy and they can bridge the gap between where we are now to 5 years from now awesome stuff.

And who they will be 'replacing' - Cotch, Sheds, they've got to be an inside mid. I'm intrigued. And hopeful.

Thanks Tiger71 for your info. It sounds like it might not happen given the current situation. But COVID will shake things up and maybe create opportunities.

Carlton:

Patrick Cripps - 24

Can't imagine that there are any other players in their Midfield crop which are worth 2 top 10.
Your wrong about Cripps.Bloos would want 10 1st rnd picks(1-10) plus Dusty.
