re Jack's kicking - my order of set shot kicking dependability as far as forwards go is

Charlie Curnow
Kennedy
McGovern

the rest of the players have developed the yips - big time.

One of the reasons I'm praying the club brings in someone like an Ollie Wines. Take the pressure off Cripps, and allow Kennedy to go inside 50 and stay there.

I'm of similar mind for same reasons - and have been for a few years....was hoping Stocker would slot in and am looking forward to Kemp next year.

As Metalcrusher said, LOB will be fine

You know what this place is like DD, with a vast array of opinions and preferences.

What I will say is "you can't unsee things"

Weitering a gun junior and showing that in his first year as an interceptor. Then with fast tracking him to be a genuine KPD and some quad issues, people either wanted him traded or suggesting he wasn't delivering based on where he was selected

Fisher was similar this year, people suggesting he wasn't in favour with the MC, so should be traded. Only took one game to remind people and silence the impatient

You can't unsee things

Then you have the levels of development. Some suggest you can't gift games, while others say that if you remain at the lower levels, you become a VFL. When it comes to kids, both are untrue

This year is difficult with the lower levels, but it still allows for a player to find touch, fitness and work on aspects of their game, like the Weiterings and Fishers

So, you can't unsee things in LOB. If you, me, most of us, think he is a starting 22, that's exactly what he will be.
There seems to be a poster here with an agender regarding Lochie that doesn't realise that development is a good thing and not a bad thing.

Of course you can think you saw this but what ultimately showed up was something somewhat different.
There has always been and always will be the likes of Toumpas, Jaksch, O'Rourke, Schache, TMenzel etc etc etc

I had Carlton people telling me that Jaksch is a lock for being a 10 year player for us. Some great insight right there.
I also had Carlton people tell me that McCarthy was a steal and will become captain of the club. Sometimes you have to be careful who you listen to.

That's why I use the term "see" rather than "hear/listen:

Russell wasn't actually as much a failure as we've played it out to be. Look at the names that followed his selection.

Lucas? He had AFL quality traits but things really went belly-up for him after that first injury.
He also never seemed to fit in with the rest of the group. I'm still dirty in the manner some of the senior players related to him. It wasn't nice at all.

Blaming the players for Lucas? WC players as well?

Have you guys tagged at all this year? Expecting tag on whitfield?
Ed Curnow usually goes to someone, but I wouldn't expect him to go to Whitfield given he's a winger and Ed is an inside mid.

Hard to say if someone will directly tag Whitfield as we don't have a natural matchup for him.

Will need collingwood and melbourne to loose most games for us to squeeze into the 8. Even then its going to be hard. Ive done a ton of ladder predictions with differnt outcomes.. its possible. But its tough. Obviously will need to win all four of our last games

My excitment (and expectation) levels tonight are chalk and cheese to last week.
Same. I only got hope now. My confidence in the football department is as low as it been for sometime. I really hope there is change as they keep making too many mistakes for my liking to have confidence I like to have in how my club being run.

Cripps hasn't shrugged off a tag all year...Matt de Boer will do what exactly what he did to Fyfe. Good luck to Cripps in winning this battle.
IMO stop doing the obvious with cripps. Start him forward this week. Throw sps in the middle with dow and setterfield. Have enough shots on goal thats he changes his fortunes with his kicking. The more ya do it the better ya get

Yeah, I reckon it's not a bad way to rest him, without actually giving him a game off. Plonk him in the goal square.

With McGovern in, Levi can go to the backline, if we're worried about their height.

What’s the point putting him forward when his set shots are atrocious?

But the point about doing the obvious would mean changing up the game plan..we can’t keep bombing it long and expect our forwards to simple mark everything.

I really like the strategy against the Suns.
