During my time with the Roys, I have and we have - been lucky enough be winners.

So - the Roys in recent years have twice, - in S27 and S28 - won the best overall posting side in the Sweet FA - which assesses a number of different measures to determine the overall winner. We dropped off last year as COVID hit - but that's a statistical outlier in recent times and we have bounced back this year. So, based upon recent statistical evidence - we are the best posting side. We are also the first side to introduce a best opposition poster award - the highly regarded Barrels award (don't get your hopes up here.....) which is awarded on a weekly basis.

So on the basis of our recent performance, our claim to be the best posting side stacks up. In the past 3 seasons, only one other side has won this - and they have won it half the number of times we have.... 10 other sides have missed out...

So, to review your post in detail - you seem to have done this... Lots of mouthing off - but failed in any meaningful way to connect with the target.

Back in the late 80s, Rutger Hauer ended up in a couple of Australian films, which were clearly intended to be epic. But have you heard of them? I kindah doubt it. One was Flesh & Blood, which also starred Jennifer Jason Leigh (sometimes with clothes), Jack Thompson and the Man From Snowy River.

That's an awesome flick but I'm not here to talk about that.

Salute of The Jugger aka The Blood of Heroes was a sports drama film set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, featuring Rutger Hauer, Vince Donofrio and Joan Chen, as well as various Australian character actors such as Max Fairchild (the Beaurepairs guy) and Ghandi McIntyre.

The plot revolves around a violent sport played between the small communities who have survived a near-extinction event, and follows a travelling team who challenges each community they meet for wagers that pay for their sustenance. Hauer plays an old pro who was once in the "league" before being outcast, this league being a mysterious major competition featuring the best players from around the wasteland.

The sport is an odd one at best, but it's manufacture for the purposes of the film was quite detailed. There are positional and role players, and a raft of set pieces as teams fight for possession of a dog skull, which substituted for a ball. The play was a possession and goal game, not unlike most ball games today, but including sticks and chains and stuff, and a lot of hefty injuries.

You'd think that would be the end of the story, but it's not. Driven by the astounding brilliance of this one piece of cinema, it was only a matter of time before the life would invariable begin to imitate art.

With the film well behind them, but instilled deep in their hearts, those most moved by the movie congregated to recreate the sport of Jugging. Now easily the greatest form of human endeavour, these real-world leagues sprung up in various places worldwide (technically true, depending on your definition of "various"), and a miracle was born.

Here you can see physical prowess at its finest, in a sport not of kings, not of gods, but of shazzas and dazzas. The real deal.
