Just like to thank Aphrodite and the other Carlton mods who started the Bluemours NON Discussion Thread and who have kept it free of chat over the past few years.

It helps so much when you just don't have the time to read through this thread, cheers and great job.

Someone mentioned Isaac Smith. Also Petruccelle who would be crossed out like Papley.

Added..🙂
It will be interesting to see just how many players have been mentioned.

Swans need a tall defender and a tall forward more than they need a Papley.

They won’t want other clubs thinking they are desperate for either, or happy to let Papley go, because he is one of the few tradable assets they have and they need as much currency as they can get from his leaving.

Tipping they have asked him to play nice in exchange for letting him go if a reasonable deal can be struck on the quiet.

Massive ego. Limited performance. Upside doubtful.

Not really Fagan's ideal combination of traits i wouldn't think.

interesting observation.

i listened to him being interviewed on SEN about 6 weeks ago and gave me the impression of a well spoken, interesting, intelligent and thoughtful young man. IMHO - very little evidence of “massive ego” from that interview.

Has low tackle/CP numbers which always worries me.

I heard Geelong were looking at Cameron. Maybe with GAJ and Taylor retiring they could squeeze him in.
Makes more sense than him going to Collingwood.
Just from left field. Could Sydney have changed their focus from Daniher? They have a habit....., and with young team may just
have the cap space despite Buddy contract. Keeps Cameron near his fishing grounds.

Ok let’s say you are Gov and you’re on $550k, you’re at a club doing well, challenging for finals, what makes you leave to go to the bottom team, in a state that’s not your home?

I don’t necessarily believe he’s on $800,000 but to entice people to leave their club, I generally think you have to offer something they aren’t getting.

OK I’ll bite.

Escape dysfunctional football club

No Collective Minds pre-season camps

Reuniting with his favourite forwards coach

You whinge a lot on this board, what do you suggest we do then?
Club on the rise, ready for their window to open while still having cash to splash?

We will find out if the club can sell itself this trade period because it has not been able to over the past 4 years.
Club on the rise would be an easier sell if we won this week and relegated the loss to the bottom side to the fact we are cooked.
The other key piece in the puzzle is replacing our midfield coach with coupled with Andrew Russel so we can sell that we will "get the best out of you". We gotta make williams and co. want to come.

Because:

Gibbons winner of two J J Liston medals recruited as a midfielder
Cunningham recruited as a Midfielder
Fisher recruited as a midfielder

All are played forward, if anyone is capable of playing guys out of position and destroying their natural instincts as to why they were selected, we can!

Harsh.

Can I assume Kane Lambert played solely as mid at Northern Blues and Port?

Is now a premiership winning HF/Mid.

We had 3 outstanding footballers wanting to join the club at the end of last year.

Win or lose this week, it will not make a difference on that front.

Not sure why you are so down trodden

Either you want to see this group/rebuild fail to justify your opinion, or I suspect it is more of a coping mechanism, which I get

Either way, it is bloody sad

I would give Cunners and a 2nd round pick swap of a later picks for Jed Anderson
What do you think his worth is

That's interesting too.

I heard Stocker in a similar style interview a year or so ago and i got the impression of a well spoken, interesting, intelligent and thoughtful young man from him too.

Yet the ego thing is getting a good run about him too.

Maybe they just rub a lot of footy people up the wrong way, i dunno. The same is said about Grundy too and he seems the same. Danger too. Fyfe too. Gawn too. And probably many other lesser lights we don't hear much about.

But getting back to Witherdan, i have heard that he has that ego and rubs a few people the wrong way and Fagan may just be one of those. From my viewing, i have always sensed that he had a pretty good impression of himself from his earliest games, yet i haven't fancied his game much. He doesn't add to his fellow back 6 much, just looks after Alex. As a footballer, i rate him as only just. He's ok if you've got no-one better, but you'd really like someone better. I see him as more the next say Jack Newnes than the next Brad Shephard for instance.

Some players have got the goods to play 150 games in mediocre not very meaningful games. And then some players have got the goods to help teams go somewhere.

What do you think his worth is

Have always liked Anderson

But seems more intent on proving how tough he is rather than impacting the game by actually winning the footy and bringing his teammates into the game

If Teague is going to persist with playing Cuners in a flank, then we will never see the best of him on a consistent basis

Long story short, Anderson is worth a mid to late 2nd
