Trade Radio always makes me laugh. They start it a week or two before trade period then the whole trade period. Then complain the trade period should be shorter.......

Maybe dont have a whole program called trade radio when you know 90% of trades dont occur until the last few days.

Typical media complaining things i the AFL are too log (games, trade period) and wanting the AFL to change it (heres a clue, the AFL isnt about making your job in the media easier/shorter)

Charlie has settled down a but. His partner is s calming influence on him. If social media is anything to go by he seems to have matured a fair bit.
Having missed out on so much footy i have no doubt he will put in the work and we will see him out there tearing games apart. Sucks we have to wait so long to see him again. The curnows are the new silvagnis

I can’t think of any. I think they have pretty much done what GWS have, paid good players well. Gaff apparently on under what he could get but still on $900k, McGovern apparently getting over a million, Nic Nat was also on an apparent million a year ( being the highest paid player by the AFL ala cog deal )
Imo the only difference is the amount of top end players teams have. If SOS was willing to pay Cripps ~$900, Shiel/Cogs ~$1.1mil, and guys who have never done anything of note like Curnow and MMG their reported amounts then we were going down the exact same path. Now with Williams we still are heading down that path. Personally I don’t think there is anyway around it. If guys are getting those near million dollar offers you have to get within a couple hundred thousand or they are gone.

Wouldn’t go that far.... but wouldn’t be increasing the already very healthy amount until he earns it with consistent sustained high level impact.

If i was North or * that's what i would be doing. All arguments aside has proven can build a list from scratch. Finish one off? There's no evidence of that yet (as much as i love SOS) BUT can strip down/rebuild a list.

Thoughts:

- Speculation about what we're paying Williams reeks of the same bullshit that certain people spun about what we're paying Jack Martin. What we're paying in Year 1 does not necessarily equal what we're paying him on average over the duration of the contract.

- Charlie up the ground a bit is fine by me, provided he's using that big engine of his to find some space and drag a defender up the ground. He'll still see plenty of time in the goal square, but he's got the tank to play the roaming CHF better than Harry, who is usually blowing hard after a double lead in the first quarter. Time for H to start picking up some ruck minutes.
