It's only because we have an embarrassment of AFL quality tall forwards (JK, Darling, Oscar, Waterman) that he isn't getting a look.

He's plenty good enough.

I could see him starting in the Swans forward line immediately and getting a long run there.

Just have Brander and Allen at CHF/FF, Darling third tall and Waterman HFF/wing. Kennedy will probably miss a number of games next year so just rotate he, Brander and Allen and they can both learn off him as he's moving into a coaching role after the season anyway. Would be perfect for him to develop them both next season.

Darling's always played better as either the main man or 3rd tall, is a bit quiet as second fiddle sometimes.

I think you'll find the majority of the board has been saying this for a long time, this isn't new.

Kennedy deciding to sign on again for another year has stamped Branders papers as tradeable for mine. I'm deadset against him languishing in the WAFL for a 4th season, like he has for his first three. It really isn't going to do anything for his development, there's a time when state league competition isn't enough.

However i would play him ahead of Ainsworth in any goddamn position on the ground.

For the next 12 months, at least, he would be in the same situation whether he left or stayed.

A rebuilding club would put time and games into developing Brander in his best position.

Yep, Brander at a team like North, Adelaide, GWS (with the players they are losing) or Sydney is going to get games. The potential is there for him to turn into a very good player.

The potential is there for him to be a good player with us also - but games will be harder to come by (especially in his best position/s).

This is why the AFL should look at a loan system like in soccer, especially with no opportunities to develop in the WAFL/VFL/SANFL.
Brander would be a perfect candidate for a loan to a younger team while KPF/KPD spots are tight at WCE.

You need to do the work and earn it.

It's the word guaranteed which is the key here people..

Yeah slow deliberate movement from the back line when they intercepted. Could have contributed to Cameron wanting out. Stating the obvious but Forwards thrive on quick clean movement, which we lacked for long stretches of games this year. And when we did get it in we didn't have the forwards tackling hard enough to keep it in our half.
Not sure which way the recruiter's head here. More half back line / wing speed players that can break the line or chase harder tackling pressure forwards to lock it in. Hard to find either type at the moment

If this was a problem for him, he wouldn't be going to Geelong - very similar in their slow deliberate movement out of defence. GWS obviously overpaid Coniglio on his new contract and offered Cameron unders.
