It has absolutely not been officially confirmed that Hollands is now 190cm...He was a no show at both the Vic Metro and Vic Country Combine testing according to reports where the updated measuring heights and weight are taken. He may well be 190cm now but until it's confirmed officially it cannot be set in stone. Correct eDPS or has there been a development in that regard?

He said in a very recent interview that he'd grown 2cm, but I presume that's unofficial.

Perhaps they will prefer another bottom 4 finish and a priority pick in 2021 instead.

We aren't getting a priority pick if we get a spoon next year. How many years in a row did Gold Coast have to suck after their concessions dried up before they got some priority picks?

I think that's why the delay in matching, they're frantically trying to work where they are with Crouch and his management first and shore up their position so they have the option of adopting this narrative.
Sorry ....but has the AFL even acknowledged that the FA paperwork has been lodged by St Kilda

Now almost lunchtime and nothing I've seen confirms paperwork lodged

so if the AFL "Don't like the look" of compensating pick 2 for Crouch, then why not use their publicised discretional powers to "Adjust" the anomaly and change compensation to say pick 10 or so? that would be acceptable in my eyes at least.

This is the issue. The AFL seem to make adjustments quite easily for some, but not for others.

When did Mitch ******* Cleary become an oracle?

that’s just fantasy & invention

The only fantasy and invention here is that Brad Crouch is getting a contract offer that nets us Band 1 compensation.

When (not if) that becomes official, it will be fascinating to see what unfolds.

Sounds like both numbers are right. The base contract is only around 600k for four years. While if the games played triggers are met then 750k plus a fifth is where it ends up.
Problem for us is the afl assume Brad won’t play a game for the next four years so compo is based on only the base contract of 600k for four years.
So we are screwed and prob end up taking the compo 23 pick and cut our losses. Matching means we pay Crouch 750k for five years unless he only plays less than like 10 games a season.
Sounds about the type of contract structure we'd be happy with at the Crows

No play, no pay ....no play, no 5th year

Actually surprised that was the best Brads Manager could muster up

That said .....with that contract (if correct) ....other clubs, with stronger Draft Hands, will come a calling during the trade period

and your bizarre crush on Mitch freaking Cleary

I mean c’mon, of all people to seek out as the one true purveyor of truth & accuracy?

might as well chosen Rooch

Surely this cant actually have factored into their decision.

" The AFL simply doesnt like the look of Brad Crouch's departure netting Adelaide pick 2 in the draft".

Many clubs seem able to play the system to their advantage, we are one club that rarely/never does that, but now the look of it is the problem.

What lovely administration we have.
Of course it can. It's why the Vic media have been running this narrative for a week or more purely to make the AFL aware they don't like it.
Bottom line is, it shouldn't matter.
I'm fairly convinced the AFL helped St. Kilda draft their offer so Brad gets what he wants, but we are locked out of pick 2.

Yeah and the look of Daniher who has played 5 games on average over the last 3 years netting pick 7 while Cameron who is seen as the best forward in the game netts pick 10. Yeah what a great system. No favouritism whatsoever to VFL clubs.

Cameron goes to the cats for approx 4.5 mill over 5 years - nets band 1. No way a 2.4 deal over 4 years gets the same compo.
Yet 2.1 m over 3 years does net Band 1 and pick 7??
Nice of you to be very selective with your reference points

You know that you are allowed to just like a post, you don't have to do a new post saying that you liked it lol
No I'm not, I've had that removed because obviously some soft**** reported me because they didn't like me to LOL their posts.

And because I get real cranky when people misrepresent my views for cheap points (my opinions are cheap enough as they are, thank you)

huludicidal seems the latest using artistic licence

I’ve said multiple times STK have no realistic path to Brad except through Band 1.

anything less, we match. STK have said if we match, they walk away

I’ve seen nothing (yet) to say I’m wrong.
