Callum Mills:
Who is jumping ship / keeping the faith?
Could only watch / listen in part.
He made some fairly uncharacteristic blues in his disposal but seemed otherwise passable and clearly had the role (although the question is whether a shift to the midfield is actually not what we want this year 🤷‍♂️).

Thought he is not suited to the midfield role. Hands are not quick enough and can't burst away from the contest like the young ones. Swapped him for Daniel who plays a SC friendly game.

Hes repeatedly hinted at a break out for like 5 years. He finally got there last year.
Ive started him before and been burnt.
I just feel almost everyone within 20k either side of his price is a more reliable option.

Does anyone know what the incident was here? Didn’t see anything.

He probably fell over and hit his head when he realised that someone that has played 2 games (Warner) is a better midfielder than him.

Luke plays pure fwd for us, he wont affect clark and he my be on the fringe. Duncan is the one that would hurt clark. Im not expecting jordy to 120 every week but at 240k i think he can average around 80 and you can hold him till the first bye which the cats have.
Thoughts on Tom Atkins?

I agree with what everyone is saying re: Clark. He offers something they don’t have in the defense, speed. While very dependable, the cats can look a bit same same back there.
I know less about how geelong rate their guys internally, but if I’m looking at their best 22 I’m not certain all of Hawkins, Cameron, Rohan and O’Connor is the right balance. That’s why I lean towards O’Connor missing

710 metres gained is the stat that is impressive. 21kicks/8hbs 72% efficiency, 66% t.o.g. Think the WA clubs would be in his ear. Smallish build which is ideal for this quarter back style role.

Anyway swapped him for Young. If he isn't selected or gets dropped it's not a big deal. I'll just grab the best player that suits my needs. Like a rookie correction.

Just experimenting with what a mpm team might look like....
I know it's a full mpm side but you'd be silly not to downgrade one of the three mpm backs to a young or Clark or rookie (if there are any) and upgrade Smith into a proper premo. Same with Caldwell and De goey but you can do some dpp and get an extra mid premo. Love the hill pick, in my side rn.

Nice :thumbsu:

I'm also thinking hard about leaving Gawn out and either subbing him for a guy who'll hopefully average 100 (Witts, Nank) and using them as a stepping stone, or using one of Meek or Flynn on field.

Don't mind the mid-price mix in defence, but huge potential for one or two of those guys to flop. I rate the Smith choice though.

I think I'm going to end up beefing up my defence to the extreme and end up going with (my current set): Laird, Ridley, Daniel, Short, Docherty, Young.

Still very keen on adding JDG somehow too.

Clark is a gun.

Hopefully this is his breakout year, and he goes on to average something like 85+ but I'm still a little wary of his JS and scoring potential, so my plan is to start him in the midfield so if he does get dropped or tread water there are far more midfield rookie options. I think his PS form should cement him for 5 games at worst though.

Thats the sorta team I’ve had for the last week or so but the mid pricers are tempting me after the weekend. I’ve been keen on Clark for a while but some of the coaches comments still has me worried about his JS. I haven’t been into JDG at all but watching his role on Friday changed my mind a bit.

Who do you expect to generate more cash? Markov or Clark? That 70k difference in price might be enough to go Smith to Doch. The cheaper the midpricer the better, easier to manoeuvre if they spud it up.

Alex Pearce anyone? Cheaper than young and should play all year. Barring injury.
