As the title suggests am I the only one that believes our season is on the line this week.

By that I mean our premiership chances. If we lose this week it's almost certain we lose to Geelong leaving us likely at least two games out of the top 4.

Considering the Saints are looking like a bottom 4 side, two 50 points losses in three weeks sandwiched between a come from behind win against us I can't see us getting on 7-8 game winning streak which is what we would need if we are behind the 8 ball to make the top 4. Am I being to pessimistic?

Nope. Couldn't agree more. No chance we beat Geelong over there so from 2-4 we ain't winning anything. And no excuses. They are a rabble this year and just lost their best mid, but so we're the Saints so...

The season defining game was St Kilda last week.

If we couldn't close that out against an out of form St Kilda (and judging from tonight, that was their usual form-line too), then we're not winning a flag.

2-2, at home, against a team with one win. If you lose it's season over, no question.

Geelong lost in the same circumstance in 2007 and if I recall correctly, never recovered.

Winning at home, losing on the road is a better indication of where we are. The losses are plenty to worry about.

If we lose this week I wonder if the Buckley evisceration of this week will transfer to the coach of the most underperformed team of the past 2 years?

Geelong 2007 was pretty exceptional. Not the normal path a team follows.

If we lose this weekend, it's a long way back.

Nah this will be a nice win at home.

If we can pull off a win in Geelong I'll get excited but it's wlwlwl for me

If we do a Geelong 2007 this year I will change my supported team to Freo.

The season was over at three quarter time against the Suns, over after the Dogs game, over again when we thrashed Port but didn’t build enough percentage, and over once more when we lost to St Kilda.

I can only look forward to it being over against Collingwood too.

Do you find that moderating is making you cynical?

The Saints debacle has put is in a real shitty position this weekend, in the sense that there's no possible win that offers the answer to any of our questions. Even if we thrash the Pies it doesn't tell us anything about our ability to stand up in tough spots and/or in high pressure situations.

Whilst a loss (and maybe even a tight win depending on the nature of the game) will just have alarm bells flashing everywhere.

Im right up there with the most pessimistic people on the board, Don't get me wrong....

But if we knock off the wobbles (despite selections) , which we should at home....

Somehow knock off cats over there

Then bank a win v Cockburn

We are sitting at 5-2 which you would have taken at the start of the year. Wobbles and cats are struggling as well, Cockburn is Cockburn....

These injuries are getting laughable but if we pinch the game in Geelong it's going to start get a bit better around here

Not saying we will lose, just feel that if we do I can't see us making top 4. If we do lose do you think we are capable of making top 4 - i.e. do what we did in 2015 after losing to the dockers?

We smashed the team that for 24 weeks had been on top of the ladder 13 days ago.

Sure, not saying our best isn't good. Not saying we can't or won't win this game. Just asking if we lose this, given our record in Geelong and our away form so far this year, do you see us making top 4?
