My self-imposed Bay 13 ban starts on Friday night, so one last Crows troll to finish the off-season...

There is a Crows TV commercial doing the free-to-air in Adelaide coming up to the start of the year, and it screams of misleading advertising.

The by-line to the advertisement reads
"Crows - uncompromising, inclusive, proud"

The three screen-shots that (I assume) represent the three selling points are:
1) Uncompromising - Mark Riccuito running along the road. Given his pre-season absence with a career-threatening back injury, I wouldn't suggest that this is a 2007 video. Strike one....

2) Inclusive - Simon Goodwin escorting a young Crows supporter/mascot through the pre-game banner. Another one that I wouldn't think was recommended this year, Simon being the great role model and all that. I wonder if he was passing on some betting advice to the young man. Strike two...

3) Proud - Andrew McLeod kicks the goal from the boundary line against Collingwood last year, and then runs up and gives a teammate a big hug and slap on the bum and smiles all round. Nothing inherently wrong with that, except the teammate in question is Tyson Edwards. Couldn't see Rachael McLeod in the picture though, or No 1 ticket holder Lleyton? Strike three, and you're out...

Great work, Crows. You've really picked out the three stand-outs of the team and worked them wonderfully into the advertising. All that was needed to finish off was a fourth word "Tradition" - as the video shows Neil Craig trudging off AAMI Stadium last year after another Prelim Final choke.

Enjoy the season, everyone, and Go The Power!

I hear port power are going to do a copy cat ad. The 3 players they will use will include the rapist, the drug taker and the thug. I forget there names for now but we all know who they are... ;)

So you forget their names but know who they are? Not contradicting yourself there are you :o

Yes, he knows who they are visually but can't remember their names. How hard is that to understand? Talking to Port Power supporters is like talking to a three-year old sometimes.

So that's why so many of you Adelaide bandwagoners yell out "go number 23" instead of actually remembering the players names. Thanks for that admission jmrog,

I could have added the Crows fishing druggie and the drunk car accident driver, but that's too many "fantastic learning experiences" for just 30 seconds.

When I'm given a free ticket of course I'll go, wouldn't matter who was playing..... Still struggling to remember who number 23 is. I'll give you till morning :thumbsu:

that was 15 minutes of your life you'll never get back.

good. :)

Actually, 5 minutes (touch-typing)....

Weigh that up against the 15 minutes each Crow supporter needs to read all the 2-syllable-and-up words (un-comp-ro-mi-sing), and I think that's a good trade-off.;)

Why are the Crows trying to sell tickets to the first game anyway? I thought they had filled up the stadium with members already? Let me guess, they are saving up their petrol money for a trip to Melbourne for the Grand Final again! Doh!

Yep got to love those 41,000 people "sell-outs". Although the term "sell-out" quite aptly describes the corp and their supporters :)

Of course, being a Power supporter, you wouldn't be familiar with that term.;)

To quote your esteemed colleague, Crow-mo....

"that's the way. duck that issue.

look it's coming right for you... ouuuuuuuttttt the waaaaaay!!!!

phew, that was close."

Come on, just answer one question for me... How can the Crows have 41,000 at a ground that holds 50,000 plus and call it a sell-out?

Why ask me???
If the tickets are sold, then they are sold! Not everyone that buys a ticket makes it to the game.
Couldn't you work that out by yourself???

Because all the tickets have been sold?

Sellout of 41,000 > 25,000 no shows at a Power match

So, the Crows real achievement is not that they have 50,000 members that want to go to games, but that they have sold 50,000 season tickets when only 41,000 want to go...

I guess that is good marketing, but hardly a vote of confidence in the supporter base....
