Pretty sure that there will be no appointments made till after the review and they're probably talking to quite a few to gauge interest. Hold fire till we see where things end up.
Of course. I'm not jumping the gun. I posted in another thread that I'm happy for the club to explore every option, of which, Hamill is one. I'm simply discussing the observable downside of the only actual name that has so far been mentioned as someone who the club has approached.
A long way to go before anyone else is possibly fired, let alone hired, but I'm not going to wait for that to happen before discussing it when a name is in play.

So far the media have reported that Hammil, Newman and Leppitsch are on Lloyd’s list of potential assistant coaching candidates. Whether that is true or not is, of course, anyone’s guess.

Had to answer this first. Dave Foster mate - the man mountain - the wood fell apart it was that scared - and a bottler of a bloke too. The O’Toole boys went ok. Only reason my old man ever went near the Royal Melbourne Show - the Dagwood Dogs for me but.
Many moons ago I was a professional athlete. Competed in a race meet down in Tassie where I was fortunate enough to win the Gift.

Dave Foster presented me with the sash, then shook my hand. It's fair to say I had to book in for surgery the following day :)

Must admit wood chopping was my first go to when I went to shows . Loved those guys . The climb the pole discipline is breathtaking.

Exactly. As well as a long successful history and being a recognised club and brand on the Gold Coast that would've had emotional ties to thousands of former players/families. A real club with heritage and long term community engagement. In NRL heartland I think getting that head start would've made a big difference.

I wish I could've liked your comment a dozen times, I was really hoping that's what they'd do. I grew up playing for the Sharks so maybe I'm biased but I really think it was the way to go.

It absolutely was the way to go.

Established club with a rock solid admin that understands the game.

Instead, we effectively got Tourism Queensland (Gold Coast) who have stumbled and stumbled and never understood the difference between professional sport and tourism much to the detriment of the club and code up here.

The Sharks would have hit the ground running. Instead, I know several of their board are fed up with trying to help only to have Cochrane and co do the exact opposite.

What happened to ODNB?

Did I miss something?

He had some serious health issues.

And hasn't been on here in some time...:(

Hopefully he's ok and just simply made it out of the bigfooty addiction loop. I heard a rumour that real life is more interesting, but of course we all know that's about as believable as a bluemour from tram #19.

Well my friend, surround the ground with 44 gallon drums, fill em full of Huon pine and light em up. Sell 20,000 Fight MND beanies. And, play the game at about 2ish when it’s the warmest. I want Tassie in the comp, a true AF/VFL heartland. GC hasn’t worked. Buy the rights to Tassie Devils or go with the Tassie Brewers. Damn I’m good. Baaaa!

Absolutely Yes...
I'm sure, the head of the Tasmanian football bid, fully supports you...

Yeah but… nah but… Fat Vlad couldn’t have spunked a hundred mill up the wall setting up a brand new club on the Gold Coast and pocketed a couple of mill over a couple of years in bonuses for expanding the competition. If they had promoted Southport to the AFL, they wouldn’t have had to spend anywhere near the sort of money needed to justify his bonuses.
