that because Godwin got injured in the first quarter but take nothing away from Pev he battled well today, cannot see Heff taken his spot for a while and Pev no's he has something to prove this year
His pre season had been quite consistent.
He began shaky, but 2nd quarter onwards, he was in the thick of it.

Should keep his spot even when JJ comes back in, which begs the question; Who makes way for JJ? I would say Kepler, but knowing Sheedy, it won't be.

i like the fact we're asking these questions... last year it would've been x is injured, but who'll replace him?
Sheeds has said neither Campo or JJ will play before round 4-5.
Pev was very good today, best game for a couple of years IMO. Especially from a ball use perspective.
But once JJ and Campo are back, he'll have to maintain that form.

Campo only played a half game and he was a bit out of sorts. Will need a few weeks of footy to get his touch back after not training for a while.
pev was pretty good although he was lucky that goodwin got a corky. it meant that he didn't have an opponent.
although i don't want to take to much away from pev. i haven't been his biggest fan and i was very happy that he kind of proved me wrong.
i still don't see how by round 4 or 5 jj, campo, jobe and pev can play in the same team. i wouldn't want more than 2 of this type of player in the side. and with dyson knocking on the door it will be very interesting to see who holds their spot.
who goes out when laycock comes back. is it kepler or lov-murray???

That's a good question
Remember that there WILL be injuries at certain stages and sometimes the team changes are related to that.
IF we happen to have a good run with injuries, we MAY have the option of resting an older player, say Hird for example, and bring in a kid in his place, say Houli (showing my bias again)
Other times changes will be due to team balance and the opposition we play.
One of the things that i think we have really improved on is that we have real depth now and players will be fighting for their spots.
NLM didn't get much of a run today but i thought that what he did was very good.

Pev was quite good today but so was the rest of the team.
Pevs is a good player, i like his work around the ground and his ability to get the ball but it will be his skills that will eventually get him booted from the team. As our young guns continue to develop, sheedy will find it harder to fit peverill in.
I have been one of those thinking his time may be up but played well today and kept the ball moving, with our new game style this is paramount to give our forwards a real chance at posting a winning score.
Of those two options it would have to be Kep.
NLM could become one of the best bench players in the competition. He can come on and make an impact in any third of the field. HB, HF or on the wing in spurts.
He can play tall as well. Gives us great flexability.
