Happy to post this here as it isn't coming from inside the club.

It is the 'belief' from a former multiple premiership star Hawk that Clarkson will be coaching Carlton next year.

Clarkson is apparently filthy with the Hawks and Carlton are right into him.

He was also of the belief he may not even see out the year with the Hawks.

As I mentioned this is not coming from anyone on Carlton's end and is a prominent Hawks belief of what will happen.

Interesting. A biiiiig part of me hopes the Blues want Clarko as director of coaching rather than coach.

Not necessarily changes made when Barker left, but regular players from earlier in the year who haven't been in for weeks: Pitto, Levi, Murphy, Gibbo

All injured, so not selection choices, but have definitely changed up the make-up of the team. And then Ed moved out of the centre square.

Injuries aside, centre bounce attendees haven't changed

That would be terrible list management and use of cap space to fulfil a "PR agenda".....
Somewhat agree but we really have to consider the undesirable position of the list management team at the time. We just came off a two win season. Plenty of list cloggers and too much cap space that needed to be spent on someone. We were taking salary dumps for example just to meet the salary cap floor. All of our previous targets we missed out on because we were not successful or overpaying, lost out on Treloar Prestia Rockliff Devon Smith Saad and then Shiel. Hard to sell hope off a two win season with no proven senior players coming in.

I was fine with overpaying Gov personally at the time based on his age and projected improvement. He’s been handy when on the field but his injuries and lack of fitness have really hurt us in hindsight. Hopefully he takes a pay cut on his next contract to repay the club’s faith in him.

The setups have certainly changed, but going from no Dow and Kennedy to Dow and Kennedy would be a pretty significant difference between Barker and Power, I'd have thought.

Dow and Kennedy played first half of the year but were poor, hence having to go back to the VFL and work through a number of items.

The changes that have been made to the gameplan, ends with Teague

That's Contrary to what Sam Mitchell said on SEN earlier...

not saying it's true but if clarkson doesn't leave this year they are going to have to sit next to each other for another 12 months, he's hardly going to be burning him on radio for the press to regurgitate

Well that's stopped conversation dead. :grinv1:
I wonder if Teague can somehow be involved if that happens.

Only way that happens is if Teague voluntarily steps back, and if Clarko is willing to potentially have to deal with the inevitable difficulties of having to manage the bloke you just replaced.

Comes down to whether Teague reckons he's honest-to-goodness ready for the gig or if he's feeling a bit out of his depth.

Tell you what though - I reckon if the talk of a big blowup between Clarko and Hawthorn/Mitchell is accurate, it's probably the right time to get him. He's not being enticed our of retirement for a final paycheck, he'd be coming over with a point to prove.

Whilst I agree with what youre saying, he is also going to look bloody foolish if Clarkson pulls the pin..

Very flakey language there but appreciate you sharing, poorman!

Wouldn't mind Clarko as a senior assistant or DOC but can't see his ego 'settling' for that. I hope we do keep DT for longer than 2y as 'starting over' would not win us a flag any sooner regardless of the coach (cough *messiah*) but ultimately will support the club and players as always, no matter the outcome.

I like JSOS in a Tom Lynch (ADL) high half forward role. Can hit targets and can grab the footy. I reckon JSOS is a staple in our side at this point and is one of the first magnets on the board every week.
radio quote is radio quote but true quote from radio is true..........

Just didn't want to imply it is more than what it is.

Contacted my mother's cousin (former long time Hawks board member), "Carlton have been in Clarko's ear for months. This would not surprise me at all."

My CFC people deny it.
