Adem Yze if we decide to let Teague go.

I do not subscribe to the logic we need to get an experienced/winning coach into the system. How many times has that worked for other clubs not just ours IE Terry Wallace at Richmond ???

I will of course support and back whichever path and person the club decides on, that is just my 2c.
If it all happens my take is that the market would be;
Experienced coach $1.05
First time coach $12.00.

We have experienced coaches who have won 4 flags (Clarkson), made grand finals (Lyon, Pyke) and preliminary finals (B.Scott) potentially available. Probably the strongest field ever.

Would take the bravest decision ever to appoint a first time coach. Ramifications would be huge if they did and it went belly up.

Appreciate your response though.

Just kidding. I respect your passion but you tie yourself up in knots continually. Given the choices available, who would you prefer?
We all have our ways. I get pissed and need to win the internet, ferrisb thinks pun first and...well, that's it really, KohPhi communicates primarily in GIFs, Thy fluctuates wildly between wokest dude ever and Abe Simpson, gbatman channels Tolstoy, at least in terms of volume.

What a rich turnip soup we are.

Bloody hell, this is scarily accurate...

Caro is going to unload on Ch9 I reckon soon and I reckon she is going to be right on every opinion she has.
She has good sources. She was calling Clarko to Carlton 6 months ago, and even if he wasn’t ‘gone’ then, she musta had inside info that we were right in his ear.

The only reason the hawks arent on the bottom is clarko and dermie would hate to see him come to us and lift the cup.
No one wants someone to Leave and be successful elsewhere be it an ex or a coach or player .
It’s human nature to not want to see someone go better elsewhere

I can also see the same melts when new incoming coach trades away young/youngish players like SPS and LOB, cause that is almost certainly on the cards.
No melt from me on those two. However, if anyone is going to get more outta them it’ll be clarko

I'll be honest and say I was taking a bit of the urine with calling Derm a respected commentator.

His special comments in the SA Showdown was eccentric to say the least (talking about making documentaries on how to tackle lol)

Think he probably had one too many Shandies during the day :)

My view on the Electric Blue Number 5 is Alive post is that Judd has had a reversal of intentions. Maybe he’s staying on the Board? Maybe he’s going to replace Lloyd?

Now to see how wrong I am.
Interesting take that I hadn't considered, and don't think I've seen anyone else pose the same scenario.
He did obviously have an issue with the appointment of Teague and possibly some others at the club as a result of that appointment. If the preliminary findings from the review (or back room discussions) have indicated that Teague and some of those other key players will no longer be around from next year, then maybe he's had a change of heart and wants to be part of the change.

That has a Malthouse smell to it.

Based on what? We can bring in an experienced coach or go for a first timer. The last two have been first timers. Why should we make it 3 in a row?

Is there any club scenario that doesn't make you nervous Elmer_Judd?
I think my reservations about Clarkson are fully justified, and well respected former Hawthorn Champion Dermott Brereton agrees with me (saying Clarkson is past his peak as coach)
Given my moderate sized stiffy over the Clarko forecast, I am still as reserved as Elmer on this, given the Malthouse & Pagan scenarios, and the fact the the only ‘hit’ we’ve had in the last 20 years was Ratten, whom we then sacked for MM. That alone is Enough cause for a shriv. Nothing is a given for this club.

PS. Elmer is braver than me with the Yze call. I want nothing less than proven coach this time round.

Also on Clarkson (again), I know the AFL have no banned the practice, but does anyone else have an issue with Clarko and his brutal boxing training practices putting one of his young players out for a while with concussion ?.

Maybe not an real problem now that the AFL have banned it, but I still think it's worth discussing in the debate of the pros and cons of hiring Clarko.

Reckon Clarko would see someone like LOB as being his Isaac Smith on the wing.

Soft.

Club has not offered LOB a new contract (according to The Age)

Reckon he is on the way out even if Clarkson comes on board as coach (club is probably just playing him to increase his possible trade value imo)

0 issues. Accidents happen. It’s not like he put one of his guys in with Canelo Alvarez and told them it’s a fight to the death.
