Clarko could just play the Milburn KOs SOS video every pregame session and the let the boys savage him as a warmup
That smile after they pulled milburn to the bench. I’ll never forget it.

deadest flog of the highest order and deserved every boo from the bottom of blues supporters lungs after every wretched possession her got against us thereafter.

Age reporting board meeting this Thurs where board will see the review and make a call on the coach

Won't be made public immediately

Reading between the lines it seems MLG doesn't want to personally sack a third coach

Hence they'll postpone making it public

It makes sense.

As has now been made public info the review was Sayers call. Therefore, the findings are on him and not MLo refusing to fire a third coach.

Interesting what Lloyd said about Clarko at the end of this. Then the comments from Jordan Lewis Saturday whene he was asked about whether tEague should keep his job. Lewis said he thinks Teague deserves more time. He was then asked what about all the senior coaches available to get. Lewis replied the grass isnt always greener on the other side. Maybe nothing in it at all but strange he did not give a glowing endorsement for Clarko. Like i said maybe nothing in it.

Could be ugly this weekend. Can only hope Port don't take the game too seriously.

Not much to play for now for Carlton. Aside from players playing for their careers which usually equates to selfish football.

I hope Clarko has a plan to turn our mud midfield into something competitive. I'm confident he will sort out the defensive woes, but the bigger challenge will be the under par midfield.

Why would you expect an endorsement from Lewis? He has acrimony with him about not getting the captaincy and then getting the boot. He still respects Clarko, but i wouldn't have expected him to endorse him.

Not having a dig at Lewis either.

Just watched the whole thing, great interview and a great listen. To people saying Clarkson is just another Malthouse, watch that for even 10 minutes and ask yourself, if you think they are similar, poles apart.

Like chalk and cheese between Teague and Clarko....

It's all pointing in the same direction. In terms of Teague that is.

I actually feel a little sorry for him. If I were him I'd want to know straight away.

What's the chances the players pull their fingers out once they know they've killed the coach?

I can say with 100% factual knowledge that Lewis was filthy with Clarkson over that. When Clarkson came over to talk to him that day Lewis thought he was getting the captaincy. The day after it happened Goodwin rocked up to Lewis’ place with a six pack and by the end of those beers he was committed to Melbourne. Clarkson tried to retract it and Lewis told him to get stuffed - happily so.

Why would you not? Clarko still won him 4 flags. Are we now saying Clarko is the messiah and has no faults? Can not see him holding a grudge after all this time to be honest.

Biggest dog act I’ve seen in my life of watching AFL.
I just don’t get why he did it though, because he was a great defender, just decided to be a #$&* that day.

It’s probably a bit like him on game day, knows it’s happening but doesn’t adjust or acknowledge it and still has absolute belief in himself......

Of course you can. Not a holdback after the contract ends, but certainly while the contract is active.

In this case, Hawthorn would have no reason to keep paying Clarkson if he breaches his contract with them and starts coaching another club, unless they come to a mutual agreement.

Wouldn’t the Hawks have breached their contract to him? Obviously not privy to details, but if he was asked to leave, then wouldn’t he then be entitled to a full payout?

i was there that day, on the other side of the ground from the bench. I seriously thought someone was going to jump the fence. And if one did, 1000 would have followed.

alongside a home spurs crowd trailing arsenal in a NLD, it was the ugliest, highest potential for violence crowd I’ve ever been in.

EDIT - and just to be clear I am most definitely NOT a Spurs fan.

Malthouse won 2 flags with West Coast after inheriting a great squad. It took him 12 years to win a flag with Collingwood and they'd already laid down the plans to get rid of him when that happened. He then came in, was inflexible about the game plan and put a broom through the place after we had been in finals 3 of the past 4 years, with a 60% win rate or thereabouts.

Clarkson seems to have far more humility than Mick and culture is his number one focus, as explained in that podcast with Dyl Buckley. I just see him making it about the players, not himself, but also challenging them to set minimum standards.

Club has not offered LOB a new contract (according to The Age)

Reckon he is on the way out even if Clarkson comes on board as coach (club is probably just playing him to increase his possible trade value imo)
club put a freeze on contracts whilst the review was taking place, and so they should.

Haven’t seen police having to intervene like that for the sake of a player’s safety ever.

I listened to that game on radio and commentary thought someone from our home crowd were going to seriously assault Milburn.

The coach has killed himself.

Bad selection after bad selection. Removing the kids 2 years back who were actually improving and getting a feel for the game. Playing players in absolutely head scratching positions. So on and so forth...

There's only one person he should blame once its all said and done.

utter guess work and more likely wrong than not - see honey - but as realistic and factual as anything else running around this place........
