I'm tipping it was a troll account - walking into a new forum, posting inside information from the club, and trying to force other posters to bet their accounts on rumour outcomes...either an oppo fan or someone Arrow's pissed off in the past.

The later I would suggest, even had a crack at Soapy, so I would suggest it was a previous poster

Seems that Ralphy has pretty strong mail at the Blues right now. Call me a conspiracist, but the leaking of the Lyon news of late makes me think that we are purposely leaking this.

1. Teague and Betts are close and so there's an incentive there for the club to not make any announcement until next week. Give Betts the send-off that he deserves without a coach being sacked mid-week.
2. Clarkson has his final game to be played out with the Hawks. So, he may have directed the club to not let anything leak to take away anything from his swansong at the Hawks out of respect.

I would also be staggered if Lyon has been appointed already before we've sacked the incumbent and worked through a thorough and transparent interview process.

Think you've forgotten this is the CFC. There is NO transparency!

While it always pays to have a reasonable level of scepticism with new posters claiming to have inside info, there's a tendency around here to just pile on and attack said poster's credibility until they start defending themselves aggressively, or are driven off.

Making bets to delete accounts probably wasn't the best move, but if their back story from another thread was true, it would make sense that they would back in their info and have a level of arrogance about it. Obviously not the right attitude to come in with straight off the bat, but I've seen plenty of posters come in and rub people up the wrong way at the beginning, then adjust as time goes on to be more level-headed in their approach.
Was pretty open with how he's connected and the relationships he supposedly has. Unless there was a post that I missed, which has since been deleted, perhaps a PM from a mod to ask him to pull back on the aggression might have got him back on track to being a solid contributor and potential ITK. We've allowed others to build reputations over time and to work out if their mail is accurate or not.

One time he swapped 4 tickets to the clown ping-pong ball game for 6 turns of shoot the ducks at the following year's carnival.

He then swapped those for 8 turns of the strength test machine, where Levi was waiting as the ringer.

He went home owning every soft toy at the carnival plus the big top, which the previous owner had to pay part of the rent on for the next two years...

Should of live traded those soft toys for Cerra on draft night....

Here's the thing - claiming to have inside information doesn't give someone a free pass on being a dick.

So if someone comes in and politely shares some info they claim to have, I will happily debate the merits of the information completely independently of the poster themselves. I might think the information is wrong, or question the reliability of likely sources, but the poster stands separate to that assessment.

If someone comes in and shares some supposed inside information, and then starts picking fights and acting like a knob, then I'll treat them like a knob and probably assume that the "inside information" they're bringing is suspect as well.
